Friendly teachers and flexible short courses with clear lessons

"I’m probably an advanced beginning student. Which means I can get by in very easy conversations probably an A1. The Teronja school is very friendly casual and the teachers are friendly and explain things very well. The students were a varied bunch of different ages. I was the oldest but that was fine. I’d highly recommend the school. It was nice because you could pop in for a week as I did, and the lessons were organized in such a way you were with similar students and focusing on a few particular things during the week."

Outstanding teachers and a welcoming Spanish-learning community

"Taking Spanish classes at Taronja was the best decision I made during my 4-month stay in Valencia. It is an excellent language school. It is reasonably priced. The teachers are excellent, highly skilled, and competent. Classes include grammar instruction, practice, and conversation. I very much enjoyed my classes and appreciate the efforts made to keep me in the same group. Developing a sense of community as a class made learning much easier, as speaking a non-native language can be challenging in a room full of strangers. Being revisited by the same teachers was also helpful in this regard, as I knew what to expect from them, and vice versa. Every teacher I have worked with at Taronja is a talented educator (and that is not easy to find in any institution). Diego, Monica, Lucia, Sara, Rebecca, and Pablo were the teachers I had most often and most recently, and they all seemed to enjoy their work and made learning interesting and engaging. The after-school activities (including the weekly Paella Party) were enjoyable and added to the strong sense of community. The one suggestion I have for the school is to make their one-hour afternoon conversation classes drop-in for students already enrolled in weekly intensives. There were times when I wished I could add just one or two more conversation classes, although I could not commit to the full 5 days. I very much look forward to returning to Taronja classes again in the future. 10/10. Highly recommend."

Engaging teachers and great conversation classes in a social atmosphere

"I attended Taronja School for 4 weeks (March, April 2026), where I completed the intensive course, conversation classes, and private lessons during my last two weeks. My first impression of the school was very positive. The walls were interesting. The staff are friendly, and overall it is a great environment to learn Spanish. The intensive course was the main part of my experience. I liked having different teachers, as they all had a variety of ideas for the students. The lessons included a good mix of grammar and other language skills. However, at times the classes could feel quite intense and tiring. I think adding more games or interactive activities could make lessons more engaging and less stressful, although we did have some already. The conversation classes were without a doubt my favorite part. We discussed different topics, worked in small groups, and had plenty of opportunities to speak. I found these classes very useful and enjoyable, and I dont have any negative comments about them. I would recommend including this in your booking. Regarding the private lessons, they were helpful for speaking practice, but they did not fully meet my expectations. I had two different teachers, which I feel isnt a good idea especially in the same week, and sometimes I had to repeat the same information such as where I am from or what I study, which took up valuable lesson time considering they were only 50 mins long. I also felt that occasionally the lesson content was not always as focused as it could be. For example, sometimes we looked a little bit about my country or celebrities a little bit, which felt a bit random and not always directly useful for improving my Spanish. I think they should avoid wasting time looking up unnecessary things on the internet unless for looking up vocab or something that is going to improve my Spanish. That said, the private lessons were still valuable for practising speaking and building confidence, especially when we focused on real life situations etc, I just overall feel I had not benefited from them as much as I would have liked to. Overall, I had a great experience at Taronja and can happily give them 5 stars. The school offers many activities, making it easy to meet people and make friends. The average age is around 23 to 25, with a good mix of younger and older students, which creates a friendly and social atmosphere. As a suggestion, I think it could be motivating to introduce something like a Student of the Week or recognise a group of students who have made strong progress or participated actively. This could help encourage engagement and confidence. In conclusion, I would recommend Taronja School to anyone looking for a fun, social, and immersive way to learn Spanish. It was a memorable experience and a great part of my gap year, and I would like to return one day. Thanks Taronja for everything!"

"Great school, great teachers, it was a lot of fun, the people are very nice, there are lots of activities you can do together. Overall, I would definitely recommend the school. Engaging grammar focused lessons with a social vibe

"I had the best time! I was here for a week and loved the lessons and how much talking we all got to do. I wish the lessons at school were this fun. The focus is on grammar and speaking and I like the mix of learning new grammar with speaking. I met lots of people through the activities, so as long as you attend the activities you will meet people. the paella was delicious and if they don’t have it as an activity I would recommend going to MIKI on Thursday night for salsa classes, it was around €8 on the door with a free drink. Everyone I met came alone so do not worry if you have come alone and the ages are really mixed from 18-70, but most people are between 18-23."
