A modern building close to the Turia Gardens and a 10-minute walk from two university campuses is where AIP Language Institute teaches Spanish, in Valencia's university district.

Day one starts early: you arrive at 8:00, before the first lesson. First you complete or confirm your placement test, so the school can see which level suits you.
A timetable matched to that level follows. Your course includes the placement test and feedback on your result.

What you do outside class at AIP
Four activities a week fill the afternoons and evenings around your Spanish lessons in Valencia. The programme includes city walking tours, food market visits and a weekly language exchange with local residents. Several activities are free, among them the beach day, the walking tour and yoga. Optional day trips leave every weekend. Some go to wineries and historic towns such as Requena, Morella and Albarracín.

What classes are like at AIP
Spanish lessons at AIP run in small groups, with an average of 8 students per class and a maximum of 12. Standard intensive courses give you 20 lessons a week of 50 minutes each, Monday to Friday. Group lessons usually run from 09:00 to 13:00. Some levels may be timetabled in the afternoon, and you hear your final schedule once your placement is confirmed.You complete an online placement test before you start, followed by an oral assessment if needed. Levels follow the CEFR from A1 to C2.

What time do I need to be home if I stay with a host family?
If you stay with a host family, your curfew is 11:00 PM on weekdays and 1:00 AM at weekends.
How do I get from the school to the city centre and the beach?
The city centre is 1.5 km from the school and you can reach it by subway or bus. The beach is 10 minutes away by tram.
Can I walk to the Turia Gardens and the old town?
Yes. The Jardín del Turia is a 15-minute walk from the school, Plaça de la Reina is 24 minutes on foot and the old town is 28 minutes on foot.
What is the neighbourhood around the school like?
The school is in Valencia's university district, between Benimaclet and El Pla del Real. It is a 10-minute walk from two university campuses, and cafés, restaurants and shops are within minutes.
Do I need to cook for myself?
It depends on where you stay. In a shared apartment, you buy your own food. With a host family, you are advised to share at least one meal a day with them.
Are the afternoons and weekends free?
Lessons run in the morning, so your afternoons and evenings are open for activities, and most of these are free of charge. Optional day trips run every weekend.
