Language school Jaleo

I really recommend this school to anyone who´s interested in learning Spanish, I did the intensive classes for 7 months and learnt so much during that time! All the teachers I had were amazing, as well as the teaching methods and materials they used, which was a good mix of following the books but also doing games/activities (a special thank you to Luis who always made our class fun and interesting!). There was always an extra cultural activity every Thursday that lots of students would attend, from visiting museums to making sangria :) Thank you very much to everyone at Jaleo for making my experience there so special!

I spent nearly three months learning Spanish at Jaleo, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From day one, the atmosphere was welcoming and incredibly personal. Everyone at the school was kind, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping you learn and feel at home — both in the classroom and in Madrid.

During my time there, I made real progress in my Spanish, even beyond what I had expected. Much of that is thanks to my amazing teacher, Alejandra. She was not only patient and encouraging, but also made every class fun, creative, and engaging. She always took time to make sure we understood, and she created a space where asking questions and making mistakes felt completely safe and natural.

We enrolled for 6 months when me just moved to Madrid and knew 0 Spanish but the staff speaks English so they’ll be able to help you with anything you need! They have also been very kind and encouraging during our Spanish learning journey and would always ask us how our day went. The teachers are also amazing and possess a lot of patience for us so that we understand the lessons clearly and will help you if you have any doubts! We had a fun time during our stay here and will 100% recommend it to other people who want fun and engaging classes to study Spanish in! They also have events happening every Thursday as well as a book club every Tuesday and we also met some of our friends at this school!

I really love our teacher Luis! Everyone is very nice and I met my closest friends here in Madrid in Jaleo. Jaleo not only taught me Spanish but also the culture of Spain.

I attended the Jaleo language school for 8 months (part time course B2 and DELE preparation) and had a fantastic experience! The teachers, especially Alejandra and Carlos, are amazing—very supportive and professional. They helped me a lot with my preparation for the official DELE B2 exam, and thanks to their guidance, I was able to significantly improve my Spanish and successfully pass the B2 exam. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend Jaleo as a great option for learning Spanish in Madrid. All the staff are super friendly and the classes are small and intimate. I spent 4 months there and had a great experience. Luis and Maria Jesus are incredible, patient and knowledgeable teachers and made the experience fun and enjoyable. Marina and Silvana were always very friendly and helpful, not only relating to queries about the course but as well as advice and tips for life in Madrid. I would definitely stop by and say hello if I am ever in Madrid again!!

Amazing school! They cover all the basics, as well as different themes that are necessary to learn in day-to-day life. There are extra classes with subjects that force you to learn about different things in a new language, which I think is really great. All classes cover talking, reading, listening, and understanding, and it felt like a super safe place to talk and ask questions. All the teachers are amazing - very helpful, fun, and understanding, so I couldn't be happier with my time here. The students are also great, and the school arranges cultural activities, so you get to go outside the classroom with the other students (not only your class) and learn about something new. Also, you meet new friends. Highly recommend Jaleo to anyone!

I started Spanish from scratch at Jaleo on an intensive course and it was the best learning experience of my life. All of the teachers teach with passion and energy. The classes are extremely interactive and engaging (I did 4 hours a day and more often than not didn't notice the finish time creeping up on us). There's a sense of community amongst the staff that I suspect is partially to do with the fact that the school is a cooperative.

After about 18 weeks I went from zero spanish to being able to hold 1-1 conversations quite confidently with a good grasp of nearly all of the tenses. I couldn't recommend the place more!

Thank you so much to the whole team of Jaleo! I originally paid for two weeks and enjoyed learning Spanish and my time at Jaleo so much that I extended for two more, sadly I couldn't stay for longer. The communication prior the course was exceptional, great location, very close to a metro station, the teachers were great and everyone else at the school was extremely welcoming, kind, caring and supportive. The school organises cultural activities as well as a discussion club after the regular lessons and I highly recommend participating to improve your Spanish level as this way you meet students from other levels too. I feel much more confident in speaking Spanish and was able to improve my level. Muchas Gracias! :)

I don't even know where to begin.

It's been 6 months of daily growth and interactive fun with the language professors and international classmates (now friends).

1. The welcoming reception was warm.

2. This was my first-time language classroom experience, and it was a great one - I had been studying solo for one year prior... the interactive classes in small groups (of your level without intimidation) were worth every cent.

3. They supported me with my student visa processes and moving into Madrid - however they could as a school.

4. Everyone has been kind to me from day 1 to day 180 - genuinely nice people.

5. Most important of all, my spanish has improved immensely in comparison to my enrollment interview - Amazing what 20 morning hours a week can do for one in 6 months.

I can fluently speak Spanish now, not perfectly, but it is definitely better (faster, easier, and more grammatically correct), and I can now watch Spanish movies and series without subtitles (fast speech listening exercises help).

I still need practice, but I am much better than how i was.

For my fellow Tanzanians who are considering this experience, "Don't worry too much, the school is well run. The staff are very kind and teach patiently. If you can, take the step."

A Fantastic Place to Learn Spanish and Build Connections!

I attended Jaleo Language School for six months, and I can’t recommend it enough! When I first started, I knew about two words of Spanish, but now I feel confident navigating the city on my own and even making friends with people who only speak Spanish. The staff at Jaleo made me feel welcome from day one, and the environment quickly became like one big family.

What really sets Jaleo apart is how they create a community. They host a lot of events to bring students together, no matter their level, which makes learning feel both fun and social. My teacher, Cristina, was incredible—she was patient, fun, and flexible with her teaching style, adapting to the different learning speeds in the class. It felt like everyone’s progress mattered.

One of the best parts of the experience was meeting people from all over the world. I not only learned Spanish, but I made amazing friends along the way. If you’re looking to learn Spanish and settle into life in Madrid, Jaleo is the perfect place to start. I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend it to anyone!

I have tried a few different Spanish academies in Madrid and this one without a doubt is the BEST! From the amazing staff that really burns for what they do, to the well thought out material. I couldn't recommend this place more!

I highly recommend Jaleo Madrid! I started with A1 and ended with B1.2/B2 and I loved all my teachers. The classes are small, which gives you a lot of time to practice speaking in Spanish, ask questions, and focus on topics you need extra work on. Everyone in the school is very responsive and easy to talk to. They were able to work with my schedule too! Every Thursday, they also have free cultural activities around Madrid (as well as other activities) where you can socialise with students of different Spanish levels. I've recommended this school to all my friends and would love to return for more lessons in the future.

I would highly recommend Jaleo language school . I recently spent one week learning Spanish in Madrid. It is very conveniently situated in the city centre and very close to a metro station. The class was very appropriate to my needs. The teacher Luis was highly motivated to helping individuals students. He also made the class fun and engaging. I loved my time there and would definitely return in the future to complete another course. Thank you Jaleo and well done on having a wonderful language school in the heart of the city

I have to say attending classes at Jaleo was so stress free and a lot of fun. I love the fact they use practical Spanish and not just textbook Spanish that makes one sound like a robot. I only had limited time but what I learned in that short amount of time was valuable. 👍🏾

It's been almost 2 years since I started following Spanish classes at Jaleo, and I can easily say that this is an amazing school to learn Spanish. The professors are all very nice and help me to improve myself a lot (from A1 to B2 at the moment).

By far the best Spanish school you can pick in Madrid. The school has a very close knit feel and the teaching style is interactive and engaging. Could not have been more satisfied with my experience thus far. In a short span of time my Spanish has noticeably improved. I had 2 weeks of intense A1 course with Carlos, then moved up to the A2 course on a part time basis. I honestly could not say enough good things about the teaching I received here, the organisation, the value, and the atmosphere of this school! I learned so much spanish in such a short amount of time and everyone who worked there was a real friendly face in a foreign city. Could not recommend highly enough!

In-person classroom lessons are a great way to learn a language because you cover all the bases of speaking, reading, listening and writing that are sometimes missing from other tools like language apps or virtual lessons. Jaleo execute this really well and I had an amazing teacher in Silvana who keeps things very interactive, engaging and fun! The social aspects are also a big plus for me and as someone new to the city it was a great way to make friends. I'll be coming back as soon as I can return to Madrid.

I recently completed a series of 1:1, in-person classes, which were amazing. Jaleo is an impressive group of warm, welcoming, competent, professional, smart, funny, well-informed teachers, and an incredibly strong, solid resource for anyone wanting to improve language skills and deepen cultural understanding. Absolutely great! I am so glad I found Jaleo! I had a very specific case of having a mixture of intermediate and beginner knowledge and needed a lot of gaps to be filled in, and my teacher Marina knew exactly how to do that and has been incredible and really tailored my class to my needs!.

Also having online classes fitted me well while traveling.

I also did some in-person group sessions in Madrid which were also great, everything to do with Jaleo has a positive and friendly vibe, Absolutely will recommend.
