Language school Expanish Madrid

Took a 1-week intensive Spanish course in Madrid. The teacher was excellent - the class was well-organized, engaging and fun. There were just 7 students, which was great, and we were all at the same level. As a part-time expat, I found the class to be a great way to make the transition from English to Spanish. It was nice to have the flexibility to take as many weeks as you want. I would do it again.

The best place to study Spanish in Madrid! I tried the morning and the evening classes as well and both types were great, the teachers, the atmosphere, and the studies are all unforgettable. You can meet students from all around the world. I also loved the afternoon tours with Laura :) to discover the hidden treasures, tales, and tapas of Madrid. Thank you very much :)

I’ve spend 3 weeks in Madrid studying at Expanish. The experience was awesome, just as like I expected. All the teachers are awesome and the classes were super well organized and interesting. Laura and all the staff is nice, polite and always ready to help you out.

A BIG thanks to Laura because she is precious❤️, you can really tell that she loves working at Expanish and she made my experience even better because all the extra activities were so good, I really recommend it. I’m thinking to do this experiment again! It was amazing.

I finished my 2-week Spanish course at Expanish Madrid last week, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! 🥳

My teacher Alex was incredible. She made every class fun, engaging, and easy to follow, even for someone like me who started with very limited knowledge. She explained everything clearly, kept the lessons interactive, and was always patient with questions. I feel really lucky to have had her as my A1.1 teacher and to have built such a strong foundation in her class.

The school staff were also super friendly, welcoming, and very attentive. On my first day of arrival (Sunday afternoon), I had some trouble getting into my accommodation, and the school’s emergency line helped me solve it within 15–20 minutes. They guided me through everything and made sure I was settled in safely. Whenever I had any issue or question about class arrangements, they responded right away and always provided a clear solution.

Special thanks to Laura, who organised weekly activities like city tours, cheese tastings, and grab-a-drink events (all free! 😭). They were not only fun but also a great way to practise listening and meet new people.

I also loved how diverse the student group was! People from all around the world, from different ages and professions, yet everyone was so nice and supportive. It created such a positive learning environment where we all helped each other improve.

If I ever come back to Madrid to study again, I’d 100% choose Expanish without a doubt! 🇪🇸🫶🏻

In my opinion that’s the best language school in Madrid + inspiring cultural program. I studied Spanish here for a year and then came back to continue. It wasn’t easy at all — when I first started, I could say only a few phrases in Spanish: hola, gracias and con tarjeta por favor)) and during the first months, I often felt like giving up, because learning Spanish in Spanish seemed like a huge mistake х)) The school kept improving its teaching methods and worked hard to make the process less stressful. Thanks to the patience and constant support of the teachers, I managed to overcome this challenge. A very special thanks to Maria, Sergio, Sebi, Fabian and Concha — you are simply the best!

I just had one week at Expanish Madrid, and my experience exceeded my hopes and expectations. As a 50-year old woman, I was delighted to find that there were a few other older learners and travelers like me. I chose the homestay option, which was useful to create a truly immersive and intensive week of learning. The placement, lessons, and programming were excellent, and my Spanish improved in just one week. Really! The price was very affordable for all that I received. I highly recommend Expanish Madrid!

I had an amazing time studying at Expanish Spanish School in Madrid! From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt welcomed and supported. The school has a modern, bright atmosphere, and it’s located right in the heart of the city—perfect for exploring after class.

The teachers are outstanding: passionate, patient, and highly skilled at making lessons engaging and fun. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to polish your fluency, they adapt the curriculum to your level and learning style. I especially appreciated the small class sizes, which made it easy to participate and get to know other students from around the world.

Expanish also offers plenty of cultural activities outside the classroom, like tapas nights, walking tours, and language exchanges. These were great opportunities to practice Spanish in real-life situations and meet new people.

Overall, I couldn’t recommend Expanish Madrid more highly. If you’re serious about learning Spanish in a supportive and vibrant environment, this is the place to be!

Highly recommended! Learn Spanish from scratch, really from not understanding anything to now I can speak and understand. Interesting teaching methods, various after school activities and opportunities to socialize with students from various countries. The teachers and staffs there are also caring, patient, supportive and warm. Even though I am far from my family, at Expanish I feel like I am part of the family. Thank you Expanish! ☺️🧢

I've had a great experience with Expanish Madrid!! Absolutely loved my stay!! My Spanish has improved a lot while I was there, thanks to the amazing teachers and the positive environment in the school. I absolutely loved my stay at Expanish school. My teachers (Fabian and Maria) were competent, very professional and considerate. They were using the right balance between the academic rigor and playful learning. My Spanish level skyrocketed since then (of course, practice is still the most important). Last but not least, the school also has wonderful afternoon activities to discover Madrid from a new perspective. Laura, the guide, is putting all her heart and soul into it. I would definitely recommend it!

A fantastic and recommended Spanish school to improve your level as they encourage you to converse in Spanish only along with other people your level. They have all the resources and I saw huge improvements in only 2 months in my confidence!

The international environment is great for meeting new friends, my teacher Teresa was a pure angel and the supporting staff was very considerate of my needs. I had a very lovely experience at Expanish! I was in town for a week on vacation to visit friends, and I thought it would be nice to take an intensive class in the mornings to practice conversation while my friends were working. I wasn’t sure if it would be all that helpful, but it was quite useful. The teacher, Teresa, truly focused on the things that were important at the C1/C2 level. Additionally, Teresa had a wonderful personality and seemed to truly enjoy what she does, and that made all the difference in the classroom.

Apart from a delightful experience in the classroom, the school itself is well-maintained and organized. I’ll be honest and say that I wasn’t expecting this at all. So, I was pleasantly surprised. Lastly, they offer cultural activities in the evenings (a certain number included with tuition), and that was a very nice touch if you’re from abroad. I didn’t participate in any as I lived in Madrid prior and had friends to visit with, but they seemed to be quality activities.

Whenever I go back to Madrid next year to visit friends and relax, I plan to take another intensive class for a week in the mornings to practice conversation. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I highly recommend Expanish! In fact, I recommended it to a co-worker last week, and she’s planning to take a class in the spring! Thank you very much to everyone!

I had an amazing time during my two weeks at Expanish Madrid. The school is in a very well-connected location in beautiful Salamanca. The school is very warm and welcoming aesthetically, but also the same for its’ staff. I enjoyed the lessons but on top of that I also enjoyed meeting people from other countries. The social element was a huge plus for me.

There were a couple of things that could’ve made it a 5/5 experience for me (confirming class schedules in advance & being able to get questions answered in English, for the beginners class only) but honestly, those things didn’t stop me from having a great time overall.

If you’re considering booking a course at Expanish, do it! You won’t regret it!

I am a teacher from Oklahoma City that found this wonderful Spanish school in Madrid! The staff is happy and welcoming! You will feel at home even though you will be learning with people from around the world!! We speak Spanish since it’s the common language and it soaks in quickly so you will actually learn to talk ! The instructors are super nice and balance grammar with themed conversational topics. The afternoon activities are a great way to make new friends. Our host picks fun activities like going to museums, learning to dance Flamenco, visiting gelato shops, painting tote bags, playing board games, enjoying sangria and famous ham, etc . You get the idea. I came alone and felt super safe and always entertained . Come here and learn while having a ball.

During my short stay in Madrid I had a great experience at Expanish. The school's size is just right for a familial atmosphere, with very friendly stuff and nice rooms. As there was a lot emphasis on the social aspect, learning Spanish felt fun and light. The school is located in a beautiful area with a park nearby and many shops and restaurants just around the corner. Thinking of coming back!

Expanish is a language school with a positive athmosphere, with small group sizes, personal support, a nice host family and located near the parc ‘El Retiro’, which is beautiful. A nice coffee bar (Religion) is on 5 minutes walking distance, to have a delicious cup of coffee during your break moments :) You can also easily walk in about half an hour to the interesting city centre neighbourhoods after your lessons.

I really enjoyed my week in Madrid. The location and facilities are perfect, and all the staff are really friendly and helpful. The B1 class I was in had a good mix of conversation and grammar focus. One or two weeks is obviously not enough to master the subjunctive, and I still don’t find myself using it when speaking in spanish, but it was still good practice. One thing for improvement, personally I would’ve appreciated longer breaks

I attended Expanish in Madrid for 7 weeks during the summer of 2023, and I had a great experience. The classes are relatively small, and the teachers are excellent. The teachers rotate every 2 weeks, so students experience different teaching styles. The administration and teachers are friendly and welcoming, and the building is very comfortable. I highly recommend Expanish Madrid!

Really enjoyed my time at Expanish. The teachers were great, school itself was really nice & the schools close to a lot of the main attractions in Madrid.

Would recommend the free afternoon activities that the Expanish do as well.
