I spent almost a year studying Spanish in the evening classes at AIL and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made since moving to Madrid.

I was lucky enough to have Maria as my teacher and she is fantastic! always arriving with a smile and showing incredible patience, especially with my silly comments and jokes during class... Beyond the textbook material she gave us a great glimpse into local culture and slang, which is always useful for people like me who are not familiar with Spanish culture.

On the office front, Sonia and Camilo always made me feel right at home. They did a great job handling the logistics and truly went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule changes.

The new campus is well located (near Atocha) and utilizes the latest classroom technology. My only gripe is that the internet connection can be a bit patchy from time to time, but since they only moved there recently I’m sure it will be improved in no time.

Overall, it is a wonderful place to learn Spanish and I look forward to continuing with another level once my schedule allows it.

I’ve been going to AIL school - evening classes for about a year while I was in Madrid. It’s honestly the best Spanish class I’ve ever attended — I always came home in better mood (mostly thanks to our teacher, Sergio). I totally recommend it to others. Best times

I went to Madrid for a month to study Spanish at AIL and it was a great experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn the language. The class size was nice and small (between 8-10 students) and very personalised. Our teacher, Sergio, was incredibly patient and made it really fun for all, especially considering the varied mix of student nationalities there. They have flexible learning options available so definitely consider signing up with them.

I absolutely loved my experience at AilMadrid! Over the course of a few years, I took classes at different levels and each time I was impressed by the quality of teaching. Everyone was so friendly and supportive from day one. Laura especially was amazing — always patient, encouraging, and truly passionate about teaching. The whole team really cares about your progress and makes learning fun and effective. Their guidance played a big role in helping me prepare for the DELE C1 exam, which I’m happy to say I passed! I’m so grateful for everything and would totally recommend this place to anyone wanting to improve their Spanish.

AIL is the best language program I have ever attended, including that which was offered by my university for undergrad. The professors are both kind and genuine people and experienced educators. The coordination team is expedient as well as understanding when it comes to things like finding the right level of class to join or matching a program with your own personal goals. I had a great time at AIL Madrid during my course. The AIL team were fantastic with their communication from my initial enquiry right until my last day. The student numbers in the class were small allowing for a positive learning environment. The content covered was intensive and engaging, I definitely improved during my time there. This is my second year attending Spanish classes at AIL Madrid, and I couldn’t be happier. I spent 5 weeks at AIL Madrid and I had a great time! My teachers were excellent and very friendly and the classes are a perfect environment to learn Spanish (while also being a lot of fun). It was easy to catch up with the other students already on the course, and I felt like I made a lot of progress very quickly. Any problems I had were quickly and easily sorted out by the admin staff who were always very friendly and nice to talk to.

The school also run a variety of activities for the evenings which are really good for meeting new people each week and also seeing a lot of Madrid that I otherwise wouldn’t have seen. For accommodation I went for a shared flat with other students which was very nice, clean and in a good location.

I would 100% recommend AIL to anyone learning Spanish (whatever level of Spanish you are) and would also love to come back for a second time if I get the chance. It’s totally worth the money and is a great way to spend a few weeks (or a lot longer…).

I organized a school trip to AILMadrid for 60 17 year-old high school students. They all stayed at host families during our week in Madrid, which was a wonderful opportunity for them to practice the language in real life contexts. AILMadrid not only provided our students with interesting, colourful classes, but also organized afternoon activities for us; we went on guided tours around the city, we participated in a flamenco class, we entered the Reina Sofia, and on the last day the students went to Toledo. AILMadrid was always incredibly flexible and quick to solve any of our problems, they have an incredible client service.

The only thing I think could be improved is the selection of host families AILMadrid works with. In the majority of cases, the families are all eager to offer the best experience, however, we have encountered some problems that were a bit uncomfortable for us - luckily, AILMadrid quickly resolved our issues in an exceptionally professional manner.

I loved studying Spanish at this school! Staff, receptionists and teachers were all very friendly, helpful and professional. The lessons were superb, explanations and practice. I'm already thinking about a future trip and more study here

Very good school. I am living in Madrid since September 2024 and I was looking for a weekend course since my employer did not allow to adjust my working hours. I am very happy and I will continue with the following courses.

I did a two week intensive course (50+) and I'd like to share my experiences with you.

Before arriving in Madrid, I was provided with excellent information and if I sent an e-mail asking any questions I would receive a reply within 24 hours.

After arriving in Madrid, I found that the language school was in a very nice building, very modern with all the high tech facilities one could desire. It is easily accessible from all parts of the city just by using the metro or bus.

All of the staff are friendly and helpful, and this creates a positive and fun atmosphere.

I am in a class with five other students, so there's plenty of opportunity to be involved in the lesson and most importantly to start speaking Spanish. ( I am at A1 level).

My teacher is excellent, he understands how to support and encourage the students and also to provide a mixture of activities so that the time passes very quickly.

As I am a teacher of English with more than 30 years’ experience, I know what good teaching is and the teaching I have received has definitely been very good.

In the afternoons there are activities organized for us over 50s. These activities have introduced us to Spanish culture; they have been most enjoyable. We are a close knit group and we usually go out for drinks or a meal together in the evenings. So, the social side is also excellent.

All of the staff at AIL Madrid exude positive energy; they are a very enthusiastic and very engaged in their work and clearly enjoy interacting with an interesting mix of international students.

Oh yes, I nearly forgot, there is a lovely cafe in the building with the world's friendliest waitress who patiently listens while we practice our Spanish!

All in all, a very positive and very enjoyable experience. I'm looking forward to doing further courses with AIL Madrid

Coming to AIL Madrid and taking a gap semester from university is one of the best decisions I have made. Everything about AIL was phenomenal (from the pedagogy, classes, and approach to teaching Spanish, to the helpfulness, flexibility, and genuine kindness of the teachers and administrative staff). Thanks to AIL, I was able to make huge improvements to my Spanish. With 3 months of intensive classes, I was able to make huge improvements to my Spanish, taking it from an A1 to a B1 level! Their holistic approach to teaching (using games, grammar lessons, conversation, presentations, videos, reading, writing, and listening) made learning not only very enjoyable, but incredibly effective. In addition, the small class sizes (5-8 people) helped a ton!

Overall, I had a fantastic experience at AIL and after talking with some friends that were attending other Spanish schools in Madrid, I can say with full confidence that AIL is probably the best Spanish language school in the capital; and for an awesome price.

I contacted several Spanish language schools in Madrid for online lessons. AIL Madrid responded quickly and fully answered all of my questions. I was already leaning toward AIL because their website had all their prices listed. I don't understand why any school would hide their prices, but some do.

We have had a great experience the past four weeks. The administrative team (Silvia and Ana) has been friendly and responsive, and everything was correctly billed and scheduled. Our teacher, Carlos, has been fantastic. We put off learning Spanish because we haven't had success with other languages in the past. Carlos really tailored our lessons to our ability to learn. He pushes us and tests us, but in a way that is very supportive and friendly. He's really made learning fun and interesting.

I'd definitely recommend AIL Madrid to anyone looking to learn Spanish in an online course. We are spending four weeks in Madrid in January where we will take in person lessons. I'll write another review for our in person classes once they are completed.

I reached out to AIL Madrid with a tight deadline of starting Spanish Classes...on a Saturday! Diego sent a clear and detailed email within the hour and swiftly answered all of my questions...(on a Saturday!)...and I was signed up for classes later that day! I recently completed a week-long intensive Spanish course at AIL Madrid and had a great time. Everyone was so welcoming and made the experience as stress-free as possible.

I was nervous before starting but was made to feel at home immediately by Mar the Student Coordinator who I would pass every day at her desk and my brilliant teachers Marta and Berna who were full of energy and enthusiasm.

On top of the classes there are also activities every evening which were a great way to meet new people and practice Spanish and explore the city.

Everything was coordinated so smoothly from my initial enrolment to my stay with my host family, so I didn't have to worry about anything. Thanks to everyone and I hope to be back soon!

All is well and good. Professor Euginia and Paco were really helpful in learning to understand the Spanish language. The facilities in the classrooms are complete. The school staff and admin were all helpful and kind. There are activities with the school that are posted weekly on the bulletin board so students may chose what activities in the city or other interest they may have outside of formal classes. Aleksandra, who is the student coordinator is very quick to help with whatever students need, information on Madrid or any queries i had in general. I highly recommend this institution to anyone who wants to learn Spanish and to learn more about the city of Madrid.

Would recommend to anyone looking to learn Spanish and explore all that Madrid has to offer. I took courses through AIL for six weeks and without them my time in Madrid would've been extremely different. As a solo traveler who had never been to Europe, they helped me obtain transport to and from the airport as well as provide me with a place to stay. My host family experience was absolutely amazing and by the time it was over I did not want to leave. The course work was very interactive and personalized well to fit your skill level which really helped improve my speaking and grammar. My teachers were amazing and very funny (shoutout to Edu and Paula you guys are the best). Furthermore, the rest of the staff and students are extremely nice and accommodating to whatever you need (thank you Mar for putting up with me).

AIL is undoubtedly one of the best schools in Madrid! We had a group of students study there and at Barcelona for a week each, their attention to detail, assistance in making sure everything is to your liking, their staff, especially Hugo is one of the most invested people I’ve met, he’s always there to make sure you’re not feeling uncomfortable and is ready to help out in any way possible, even their teachers are highly experienced and making learning interactive and fun!

Would highly recommend considering them if you’re looking to improve your Spanish language skills!

Wonderful, thoughtful instructors (especially Lennys)! Not sure if it's intentionally done or not, but through the different instructors for the intensive class, you get exposed to different accents as the instructors hail from different parts of the Spanish-speaking world. And the after school activities that AIL organizes each weekday give you an awesome opportunity to explore unique parts of the city (shoutout to Ruth, who was the most lovely and joyful tour-guide), while connecting to other instructors and students all in Spanish - it's free practice! They also sometimes organize weekend trips to other parts of Spain for a reduced price. Truly was more than I had hoped for/expected - and I'd love to return to do another level one day.

I recently completed a week of intensive Spanish immersion courses at AIL Madrid. I am a ‘senior learner’, who had no prior knowledge of the language and fairly low expectations of what I would be able to learn in a week. I am thrilled to report that after just one week, I acquired a basic ability to express myself and be understood. I am also now able to comprehend most of what is being said to me in Spanish. Grammar and vocabulary were taught in context, rather than in isolation. The creative and varied teaching methods used at AIL Madrid, in addition to the flexibility to tailor my course to my individual learning style were strong drivers of my success. I highly recommend AIL Madrid and can honestly attest to the fact that one is never too old to learn a language!

I have had a great experience at AIL Madrid! I have been in the intensive (4 hours a day) classes for 6 months and my Spanish has improved dramatically. All of the teachers I have worked with have been very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The class structure is a great mix of grammar and textbook work along with conversation practice. They have been flexible when I have had to take weeks off of class. I will be at this school for another 6 months and I recommend it highly!

caliber -- delivering quality lesson plans, professional and fun! Furthermore, the operations team at AIL is well organized, friendly and efficient.

I started the intensive Spanish course totally remote during this week and so far the experience is really good! Before my registration I spoke with Ana and she was able to explain to me everything meticulously. About the online class, we have two teachers, Lucia and Carolina and both are so professional and understandable. I feel to recommend this school for adult as well 🌟

I have been taking the online evening courses for the past few weeks, since I moved to Madrid on exchange at university. I really enjoy Andrea's classes! I've been attending this school for awhile and it's been nothing but fantastic. All the staff is nice, and the professors have been absolutely fantastic. The teaching is also great, it's helped a ton in my everyday life, I don't think I would be better anywhere else.

I am an Australian schoolteacher. I accompanied a school group from Australia and attended a Spanish beginners class myself. My students enjoyed their home stay experiences and returned to Australia enriched by their encounter with the Spanish culture and language. They now all wish to return to Madrid when they complete their school studies! I will be continuing to study Spanish as I feel I have been given an excellent foundation. We (me, husband, 5yr old daughter) moved here in April 2023 from Houston, TX to stay for 2yrs. I decided to take Spanish courses to help me communicate with others here. So I took the 5 days a week/4hrs per day courses at AIL Madrid. The lessons have helped me tremendously considering that I started out with zero knowledge of Spanish. My professors Edu and Lucia were so friendly and so helpful. I have now re-enrolled back after the summer and am now taking online courses 5 days a week/2hrs per day so that I don't forget everything I've learned. I have also enrolled my daughter for 1hr/wk with Lara who comes to our home to teach my daughter after school. Everything was set up by my Admissions Advisor Diego Lopez who has made the process very convenient for us. Learning a new language is not easy, so having professors who are patient, forgiving, and fun certainly helps with the learning process. I will certainly continue to take classes at AIL Madrid for the 2yrs we're here.

This spring I studied Spanish at AIL Madrid. Apart from that they (the accomodation team) also provided me with my flat. My apartment was in a great location. 5 minutes from multiple metro stations, close to the centre and 30 minutes from the school.

When I arrived they had someone ready to greet me and show me around the place. Communication went quickly and smoothly and they helped me with any questions or problems I faced. My wife and I took an 8 week B1 intensive course during July and August with Judith and Alberto. Having taken time off work from the UK to come and live in Madrid and also being in our mid-thirties, we weren't sure what to expect going back to school as adults! Overall, we were both really impressed with the standard of teaching and enjoyed getting to know both Judith and Alberto, who provided a good mixture of tuition, speaking and fun exercises in class to keep everyone interested. We were also very impressed with how they adapted to the different class dynamic, with new students joining each week for different periods of time. Jenny and I both agree that our standard of Spanish has improved during this time and we plan to continue B2 with AIL online at home! One thing to add in terms of feedback, was that the classrooms did occasionally get a little hot and we would have liked a water cooler to be provided on-site.

The teaching was great 5*, however not having air-conditioning in Madrid in the summer made it difficult. I also stayed in one of their apartments, 2* for this. Don't expect anything like Airbnb standards. The accommodation administration was dreadful. A mixed review but great tuition.

I enjoyed my learning experience at AIL because my teachers were both challenging and engaging with the creative methods they used to help us learn Spanish. They used fun learning tools like Kahoots and board games to get us involved in the process of understanding Spanish vocabulary, verb tense, etc. I also met some really great people in my group and enjoyed the field trips in the afternoon that AIL arranged with my new friends.

I'm a A1 level student and I started my Spanish courses at AIL. I like their wonderful service. Once I have problems they will help me to solve quickly. Also, my Spanish teacher Jaime! He is a brilliant teacher! He is patient and funny. He tries to understand each students' level and utilise every opportunity to encourage students to speak. And he tries his best to let his students to understand and catch up with the classes. He creates a very friendly vibe in classes and I feel super comfortable to learn and speak as well. Therefore, I thanks to all the people and my teacher Jaime from AIL.

I am studying in this language school for more than two months. I'm very happy with the quality of teaching here. My teacher is Raquel, she is an amazing excellent professor - very understanding, always willing to assist and explain! I also made some friends here and I'm honestly very happy. Thank you, I'm going to continue my studies until I reach fluency.

Carolina was a wonderful, dynamic teacher who knew just how to make us speak more fluently and to end the week not wanting to leave! Unforgettable experience with her!

Maria, our second teacher, did a great job helping us approach the complexity of conjugating verbs in Spanish! No easy task and we learned a lot! AIL is a truly an impressive language school!

I had the opportunity to take my students from the US to AIL Madrid in May 2023 and the experience was simply amazing. Dora, in particular, was extremely helpful and she truly helped me make the trip happen. The school is incredibly organized and they took care of everything from beginning to end. We got to Madrid and there was a taxi that picked us up and took us to our host families. We've had no issues whatsoever and their assistance helped me enjoy my time in Madrid without worrying about anything. I highly recommend this school to all teachers and/or professors who are considering creating a study abroad opportunity. It's truly worth it!

I attended Ail Madrid for a year and had the most incredible classes with Helena and Maria Angeles before deciding to go into the internship program and continue my studies privately with Helena for my second year in Spain. Maria from the internship program handled/negotiated everything and I’ve had the most amazing internship one could ask for in my requested field. I’m at the end of my internship time but was offered to extend my contract. I could not be happier with the school and the internship program!

I have just completed 3 weeks of Intensive Spanish at AIL Madrid, and am very pleased with the results. The school itself is OK (although their new location doesn't have air conditioning, I'm told, until May and this is a serious problem they must resolve) but ultimately my review is based on the skill of my teacher, Ernesto Holguera. It's not easy to keep a class interested for 4 hours a day, but he not only achieved this but also engaged us in such a way that I feel that my progress would not have happened without his methods. I also studied with another teacher, a nice fellow but not nearly as gifted as a teacher, so I doubly appreciated Ernesto's skill. I hope to come back to Madrid in the Fall and will return to the school provided that I can study with Ernesto once again. The quality of the instruction, for the cost, is very fair.

PS: I'm a 60 year old native of New York City who's doing this to improve his language skills and his mind. I speak Italian fluently so that helped me learn much quicker. I hope this information is useful when you make your choice of school, but if you come at the end of April or first part of May, bring a portable fan as I did!

I attended AIL Madrid for about 5 months and had an excellent experience learning Spanish. The courses were tailored to my needs and the teacher, Clara, was extremely prepared, nice, and supportive every step of the way. I appreciated the school's organization and flexibility, which made it easy to schedule classes around my other commitments. Thanks to AIL Madrid, I was able to consistently improve my Spanish and gain confidence in using the language. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to learn Spanish in Madrid!

I am currently in the school and am having such an amazing experience with the faculty and other students. The school is extremely accommodating (specifically Pamela) with my needs and one of the teachers, Elena, is a blessing! Love love love her. She makes class fun and enticing. Really motivates me to improve my Spanish. I definitely recommend.

as my professor in group and 1-1

classes. She was very patient, friendly

and had a very positive approach in

classes. Carolina calmly helped navigate

me through any difficulties that arose

while making solid progress through the

various units of the course, expanding

my vocabulary and knowledge of the

local area along the way. My only regret

is that I didn't have more time there.

I completed an intensive course last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was assigned to a level B2 class, which seemed right. My two main teachers were friendly, enthusiastic and responded well to our needs. They explained exercises well, but also allowed us to deviate from the tasks for interesting discussion on related topics. My private lesson teachers were similarly good. Lastly the optional activities were well led and usually very interesting. I also found the the admin staff very pleasant and efficient, and generally felt well-looked after. Even with only 5 days I believe my fluency and understanding of spoken Spanish improved significantly. I can't think of anything to grumble about !
