Language school AIL Barcelona is the newest location of the AIL chain. AIL Barcelona was previously known as Olé Barcelona, ​​but has now joined the AIL schools that can also be found in Madrid and Málaga.

AIL Barcelona wants to offer you an engaging learning experience in the heart of the vibrant Eixample district. The school is located on Carrer Mallorca, just a 15-minute walk from Plaça Catalunya, close to all kinds of great art galleries, cafes, bars and shops.

In the school building you will find eleven bright, air-conditioned classrooms, which can accommodate up to nine students. This way you get a lot of personal attention which makes learning Spanish just that bit easier. During breaks you can relax and unwind by reading in the library or using computers in the modern computer room.

In addition to Spanish lessons, the school organizes all kinds of cultural and social activities, as well as group excursions in Catalonia, both during the week and at weekends. For example, you can participate in dinners and picnics, learn to dance Salsa or visit famous sights such as the beautiful Park Güell.

I had a really lovely experience at Olé joining an already in-progress weekday intensive course in Feb 2025. So much so that a few months later I reached out to try and join an online course. Sadly, the times didn’t work out so I had to go with the “big-business-alternative” competitor (Boo!) but this review is my way of saying thanks and that I hope to return one day.

Lastly, to echo and counter what others have written, in my experience the teachers were amazing, fun, friendly, and hilarious and customer service—both at Olé BCN & AIL Madrid—extremely helpful…despite all my way too long questions and correspondences.

Spanish courses are really great, but I had to lower my grade because I had to pay an additional 60€ of registration fee on the first day, which is not written anywhere on the website resulting in 210€ instead of 150€ for the courses I selected. I selected this school because...

I have tried one week in this school to see if I like it or now. Good things about ole is that the teacher is very professional and pay attention to most the students to ensure we understand. Staffs from front desk also easy going and helpful. The key reason I didn’t continue...

Staffs from front desk also easy going and helpful. The key reason I didn’t continue the school because of their online customer service and we communicated a lot about the schedule and payment via email. I am quite uncomfortable about “if you don’t pay today and we will cancel your seat’ this kinda expression. Also put me in the unsuitable class for changing after is a bit messy.
