Sandwiched in Passeig de Garcia, one of the most elegant and central part of the city, it is the perfect place where to learn Spanish. All the staff and the teacher are professional, kind and friendly. The building itself is amazing like the school rooms and the shared hall where you can have free old a d hot water and coffee.
Included in the price were the educational materials and free extra activities to entertain students.
I liked it so much and it's a pity I had only one week. I would have stayed one month. It's a good reason to come back.

I don’t even know where to start. I had no expectations because it was my first language vacation. However from day one I felt very welcome there and the professional learning environment is absolutely wonderful. We had great activities to get to know the city and also learned a lot. Above & Beyond Atmosphere but...

First, I absolutely love this school! From its prime location and the historic, opulent building with trendy decor and cozy lounge areas to the thoughtful touches like free snacks, tapas, and events—it’s a wonderful environment. I highly recommend it.

The only areas where I’d love to see improvement are in the assessments and lessons. I found the assessments to be somewhat inconsistent across students. Initially, I was placed in a lower level, and although I was quickly moved to my correct level upon request, I noticed that many of my classmates didn’t have a comparable speaking ability. This made me question whether there might be some bias at play.

Additionally, during the trial Intensive week I attended, we covered only one chapter from the workbook—less than ten pages in total over 21 hours. One entire day was dedicated to imperativos, which I felt could have been covered in just one hour. While I don’t expect to cover the entire workbook, I would have appreciated a bit more breadth over five days, especially for the $250 price point.

I’m uncertain if I’ll return, as they don’t currently offer a 3-day, 6-hour option, and the only alternative is the evening classes from 7–9 p.m., which doesn’t fit my schedule.

That said, the school is otherwise fantastic. The staff is friendly, efficient, and responsive. If you’re considering enrolling, I highly recommend giving it a try. Enjoy!

A great Spanish language school in Barcelona! Great location, lively and experienced teachers, a quick and friendly leveling "exam," terrific outings almost daily, and a super student dwelling arrangement (Yubi Garbi Nexo).

I did a 2 weeks Spanish course at Expanish last November and I really enjoyed my time there. The school looks very modern, everybody is very friendly and the classes were challenging, but in a good way. I had the feeling, that I learned a lot during that time without being too exhausted after 6 hours of Spanish.

Also they offer free activities 6 times per week, so it's easy to get to know other people. And they have a separate floor and separate classes for people older than 30, which is nice, if you're a bit older.

I would definitely recommend coming here for learning Spanish, it was one of the best language schools I ever went to!

Just one week, but a great one. We were only six in the 30+-class, and our teacher Francesco fit perfectly into. His lessons were very educational and also humorous. I took some helpful stuff which will help to "survive" in Spain. Think, I'll come again!

Amazing school! Loads of activities to learn Spanish like walking tours around the city, tasting of Spanish cuisine and many more. There are so many different levels from the start of learning Spanish until a better level that you can develop throughout the school! Definitely recommended to anyone that wants to practice Spanish! Plus the area is super convenient just next to Passeig de Gracia.

My Expanish trip was, looking back, one of the best things I've done. I have memories for life and think the school is very well organized. The reception helped me with private problems and it was like having my parents with me haha. I lived for a short while with Oscar whom I really love.

Both the office staff and the teachers were super nice and I had a great time! The lessons were challenging, but also motivating! The afternoon activities were also super fun!

Expanish was one of the best decisions I made when I moved to Barcelona. The school utilizes a very good curriculum (the Aula series) but enhances it with excellent teachers and a good methodology for learning Spanish. The school also offers a lot of extracurricular activities as well as a variety of schedules for all types of students at all ages. I highly recommend Expanish as the center of institutional language learning.

The language courses were really well structured and all the teachers were so kind and patient with us.

The school offered daily free activities around the city such as walking tours, creative workshops, eating Churros and so on. I would definitely come back!

This is the most amazing school. Both myself and my teenage autistic son studied there for 1 semester. I liked that they had a plus 30 campus, and held events in the afternoon.

They also were able to to work with my son who is neurodivergent. He loved that they were able to meet his needs and really cared about them. I highly high recommend.

Incredible experience. Was only there for 1 week and I wish I could’ve stayed longer. The teachers were incredibly helpful and supportive, the classroom environment was great. Considering they had only just moved buildings the vibe was amazing.

My wife and I spent a week in an intermediate level class. Actually less than a week, as we discovered that we had Covid when we arrived in Barcelona from Morocco. Expanish was very welcoming despite our frailties and we really enjoyed our class. Great teacher, nice classmates, excellent facilities in a super location.

I really enjoyed my experience in Expanish. The school has a good atmosphere and the classes are really interesting and funny. The time of the classes is perfect, it's not boring, on the contrary. The staff is friendly and the teachers are kind and attentive.

One of the best experiences of my entire life.

I spent three months in the Expanish school in Barcelona and I took both morning and afternoon conversation classes (in the afternoon just for 4 weeks).

I learned a lot. I got the certificate with a very good level of language and now I am able to understand and maintain a conversation

The classes were really useful, interesting and at the same time fun.

I made a lot of new friends with the other people of the school and I had a great time with all the teachers.

The building is in a really nice and convenient location and the rooms are comfortable and modern.

Everything was perfect!

It is a beautiful school with great prices. The teacher I had was also very good and just lovely. Everything is well organized and I would recommend them to anyone.

The only comment I do have, is that we rush too much. We touch very little of each chapter. So we run through A1, but in the end not a lot sticks because we hurried over so many little things. It might be better to take longer to complete each level, but at least what we learnt will stick.

I have been a student for over a year and all of my teachers have been excellent. The administration staff is friendly and attentive. and the school offers after-school activities, including walking tours of Barcelona and other excursions in and around this remarkable city.

The program at Expanish is the very best. I took a 6-month course in Barcelona, and it greatly surpassed my expectations. When I started, I had some Spanish skills, but was never able to advance beyond a basic level. Now, after taking the course, I understand the grammar, have a solid vocabulary, and speak Spanish comfortably. The excellent teachers at Expanish are all native speakers, from different Spanish-speaking countries. The classes are full-immersion, which is the best way to truly learn the language. Students are all ages, from all over the world. I highly recommend Expanish! Excellent program.

I studied at Expanish Barcelona for 5 weeks in October-November 2023. The admin staff was professional and the booking process was smooth. I entered the school at the B2.1 level and was placed in a class that completed the Aula Plus 5 book in ~4-5 weeks. The facility is modern, clean, and easy to access via public transportation in the city. I took 5 hours of private classes in addition to the 20 hours a week group classes, and feel that all of it was well worth it, as my Spanish greatly improved. The teachers are friendly and personable, and I met a lot of cool people from all over the world.

For accommodation, I opted for a homestay with a family. I was placed with a host and her dog. Occasionally there were other students in the home. The accommodation was large, modern, and clean. The host was very friendly and I was able to practice a lot of conversational Spanish with her.

The school is at a great convenient location and the staffs are super friendly and helpful. My professora was amazing. Excellent teacher. I would've enjoyed it more if I didn't get sick. December is a cold month. I would attend the school again.

Simply enjoyed the stay here - I stayed for 2 weeks. School is well organised and offers a number of activities in the afternoons. Special thanks to Emma !!! Teachers were fun but nevertheless hands-on - incredible amount of gramatical topics covered though clear focus is on talking and discussing in Spanish. Two thumbs up - I am ready to go for another two weeks.

Great school with great teachers, facilities and after class activities. Location very central and easy to get around. Highly recommended if you want to improve your Spanish fast also explore Barcelona :)

I was doing the afternoon classes with David twice a week. The school is located in a nice place, and David was top, I would recommend it and I will continue the classes on January. Actually, all of the group wanted to have class in December but the school didn’t want which is sad.

Great school to improve spanish, very familiar. I felt good to be there over 6 weeks. Very good location and super friendly teachers / staff. Great to make new friends and definitely worth a stay if you want to learn spanish in Barcelona :)

I was there as a teacher with a school class (18 children between 14 and 16 years old) from Germany. We had a great time, the Spanish courses were excellent and the additional activities were also superbly organised. Also thanks a lot to the guest families! Our kids felt very comfortable. We will definitely be back!

I have enjoyed my time at Expanish Barcelona and would recommend the place to anyone. The school had many classes so that a broad variety of levels were covered. The teachers were kind and patient and I feel my language skills really improved.

A very nice spanish school with a lot of activities and teachers.

In my three weeks of educational leave I get to know 10 different teachers (due to morning and afternoon classes for 30h intensive course, evening language activities and private lessons) and with everyone it was a pleasure to learn the new language.

I really can recommend this school, and will visit it again in the future.

The school is very good and the courses are pretty nice, also great atmosphere. Different teachers though can make it engaging (or not) in different ways — changing the teacher every two weeks as per school’s rule was the only big flaw of Expanish for me, as some professor’s method can make the class really difficult to enjoy.

Great location and lovely teachers & staffs! I really enjoyed studying with very supportive teachers and friendly classmates at Expanish. I studied in the class 30+ and the atmosphere are so good that I can feel relax.

Great school, only problem would be that groups of age are almost separated between morning and afternoon classes. The consequence is that you don’t really have a choice between going the morning or the afternoon if you want to stay with people your age. Otherwise, it’s really good, great ambience and the staff really gives it all so that the students feel comfortable at school

My daughter participated Expanish for 4 weeks in June. I have reached out Expanish through google search, so would like to write our experience in Barcelona with them as well. The administration is professional and responsive. We paid for 2 weeks was not sure if she will be happy to continue or not then she wanted to continue for 2 more weeks. I got B2.1 level for 7 months intensive studying from 0 level. I am happy for my experience with Expanish, i can easily speak and understand native Spanish speaking people. I liked all the stuff, teachers were very professional and friendly, the atmosphere was great, it was pleasant to get acquainted with new people from all over the world there. Also can add that the location is perfect, exactly in the center of BCN. Highly recommend!!!

I loved learning at the Expanish school. I took the B2 independent study in the summer of 2023 and was able to improve my spanish within just three weeks. I would have preferred more excursions and change of classroom setting but overall it was good!

I registered my daughter to this school for a 1 month beginner's course in Spanish. She was completely satisfied with it ! The school is smack in the area of Barcelona you want to be, i.e. steps away from Passeo de Gracia and Diagonal. The school has a very nice, fresh and welcoming atmosphere and is of human size.

Definitely recommend it to anyone considering learning Spanish in Barcelona !

I had been here from January to June for about 5 months.

I had a fun time making new friends and interacting with some fantastic teachers like Eugenia and Patricia, the staff have always been super welcoming and helpful as well regarding many things, also the evening activities had been quite refreshing for my mental health as well as knowing some history of Barcelona. And with these intense classes, I understood deeply how my Spanish improved. Being dyslexic and despite having learning difficulties and being slow to catch on, many teachers taught me with empathy and kindness without making me feel embarrassed but also a few teachers missed out on the interaction needed to teach me properly.

Regardless the only issue that did not favor me was the books that I did not expect to be used for such a short amount of time and the policies for it not being returned or exchanged despite it not having any marks or writings inside it. Not only were they heavy to carry everywhere but not enough of a wise investment either despite having the budget of a student. Spending about €20 on a book to be used for only 2 weeks more or less did not cater to me, I've got to know many students just throw them out after leveling up so it seems like quite a waste of money and space.

Hope the school considers a change in the policies so we can all be resourceful with everything we spend for the course and not waste the materials we learn from but respect it instead. Otherwise for the long run and DELE exam preparations, people will look for more convenient options like CFA or private tutors.

I am truly grateful for the opportunity, the space and community. I hope we all can do better.

I had experienced the wonderful and unforgettable 9 months at Expanish! All of the teachers are lovely, patient and professional while giving the language beginners like me the most efficient and supportive guide! I just followed the courses everyday with happiness and friendship and then, my Spanish is getting better and better unexpectedly! I’d love to recommend this school to all the prospective students! And I really miss the great days and great people at Expanish!!!

I took a one-week half-day course and it was extremely helpful for me. The teacher was terrific, the students were engaged, and we were able to discuss complex topics throughout the week. The staff were really helpful, and the building was comfortable and centrally-located. Made my stay in Barcelona really enjoyable!

Why only 4 stars in total?

In my class we were 13 people (one day even 14) which surprised me because on the website it stated that the maximum is 12. So from an organisation point of view, I would have expected them to split the class.

I booked accommodation through them as well, a shared flat. The location of the flat was super (just 8 minutes walk from Sagrada Familia). However, I couldn't hardly sleep at night because the matrace was super old. It was also not very clean. From other students I heard that the single room stay in the student housing was clean and comfortable.

So I would recommend to go for this option or to book an accommodation on your own.

I took a semester of C1 level Spanish here and loved every class. The professors are kind, patient, and push you towards success. All the staff are helpful and I learned more in 4 months here than I did in 7 years of studying Spanish. Highly recommend Expanish for all your language needs!

A well organised course from the start with personal interviews to assess level, in our case very easy as we were true beginners. The school was in beautiful old building with classes which were held in light and airy rooms. The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. The classes were well structured and with an excellent teacher, who knew how to present the language, it could not have been a better experience! . We were both very impressed from the first day and will be back in the autumn to do another class.

I had an amazing experience studying with Expanish. The school does a perfect job placing you in the right class based off a quick evaluation. The teachers were WONDERFUL. I had three different teachers over three weeks and each one was friendly, warm, accommodating, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. I felt comfortable in class and felt it was a manageable pace to keep up with. My experience was fun and very satisfying; I plan on returning to continue learning!

If I could rate my experience higher, I would. My month at Expanish was excellent! The lessons are very well structured and nicely paced by the knowledgeable teachers. All the teachers were fantastic and extremely patient when answering the mine and other students questions, which was helpful as certain parts were difficult to grasp. Expanish also arranged my accommodation with a host family, this was also a high standard and easily commutable to the school.

If you have the opportunity to attend the school, do not hesitate, you will not regret it.
