Great spanish school. The staff are friendly, teachers are very good (shout out Maria!), and it's a nice environment. They also arranged an incredible home stay for me, which really helped. Granada is a brilliant city, you'll have a wonderful time.

LOOK NO FURTHER: this is the best language school you'll find in Granada. I have had the best time in the 3.5 weeks I stayed in the school. The classes are exactly what you need, lot of focus on interactions, talking and getting to know the language and Spanish culture in a playful way. The teachers are very friendly and approachable, trying to accompany the needs of each class (big BIG shout out to Jaime). The office staff is going above and beyond to help you find a place to stay and adjust, with a lot of flexibility on their part (big BIG shoutout to Maria). Going on excursions and getting to know the city, attending great and fun classes and having the best hospitality from the school - Escuela Delengua is such a special place, if I could, I would give 6/5 stars. Thank you for everything!

I had the privilege of spending eight weeks at Escuela Delengua (six weeks of classes and two weeks of holiday during Christmas and New Year). I studied with Jaime and Laura, who are both wonderful teachers in their own unique ways. They helped me transform from someone who was terrified to speak Spanish into someone who can hold basic conversations and order confidently at restaurants and cafés.

I was lucky to stay at both the main building at No. 20 and the other school residence at No. 22; I thoroughly enjoyed the experience at both accommodations. You meet people from all walks of life, and I am certain you will make wonderful friends of all backgrounds and ages.

The energy in Granada is just right, and you get much more practice with locals than you would in a larger city (where people are more likely to communicate in English). The director Angela and Maria, and Laura in the office—are super flexible and always quick to respond to my needs. While I didn't interact with all the staff and teachers, I heard only great things about the rest of the team as well. I’ll always fondly remember Monday Tapas with Clara and karaoke nights with Jorge! Thank you, Escuela Delengua, for this wonderful opportunity!

This. Was. Fantastic. I was here for a month and had oh so much fun and made oh so many new friends. Maria (bless her heart) had the pleasure of having myself and the three amigos for this time, and made the class an incredible experience for all of us. She genuinely cared about our progress and did just a wonderfully amazingly incredible job of teaching us the ways of Spanish.

There are regular events where you do different things around the city so you can meet your classmates, eat good food, see cool places and maybe even have a tinto de verano at the same time.

Looking forward to coming back here 💙 10/10 will go to Spanish school at Escuela Delengua again.

Excellent language school - team is very thorough and professional and they offer advanced levels of Spanish for students who only wish to revise their basics, but also offer advanced Spanish level in Spanish literature, Spanish history and History of art - highly recommended - joined them in May and October 2025 - look forward to next year and another course of Spanish literature with Maria!!

Great little school for learning Spanish, well organised, good communication and affordable given the excellent quality of the teaching! Also organises activities/excursions around Granada in the afternoons/evenings. In the space of a week I went from knowing only basic words and phrases to CEFR level A1.2 and much more confident. Would recommend to anyone wanting to learn or improve their Spanish in the middle of an amazing city! Thank you very much! 😊

I recently returned from a 2-week course with Delengua. It was a phenomenal experience all the way around. The director, Angela, has created a fun, friendly and inclusive environment where I met some amazing instructors and learned "a lot." The school has a great "vibe."

My instructor was María, who was excellent--skilled, interesting and interested. I also met the other instructors who lead different activities after the instruction period. Each was outstanding. Delengua provides everything one could hope for in an immersive learning environment from academics to cultural experiences. The school is far and away the best (of 3) programs I have tried in Spain. I wish them all the best of luck.

If you're looking for a language school in Granada, THIS IS THE PLACE! Just phenomenal!

I originally planned to do a one-week course but ended up staying for seven weeks. Yes. It was that good.

THE PEOPLE – The staff and teachers were incredibly nice and friendly, making the whole learning experience feel personal and special. A big shout-out to Maria in the office, who made a great first impression and continued to be super helpful and welcoming throughout my stay. I also want to thank Laura in the office for her great support when I had an issue with a bank situation.

As for the teachers, I had Clara, Laura, and Maria, all of whom had different teaching styles but were equally great. They were not only excellent in terms of teaching but also very helpful with local tips and recommendations. I also had the pleasure of meeting many amazing people at the school, who I got to hang out with during my time in Granada.

THE CLASS – I loved the small class sizes and the teaching method. It felt both intimate and effective. I started as a complete beginner (literally only knew “hola” and “gracias”) and was amazed to find myself having simple conversations by the end of the course!

THE ACTIVITIES & ACCOMMODATION – The school’s activities, especially the Monday Tapas nights, really helped me make friends. I also stayed in the school’s accommodation, which was super convenient and comfortable. I felt right at home.

I would 100% return to Escuela Delengua if I ever visit Granada again!

Wonderful experience with the teachers and school for a 3 week period. Kudos to the team for providing a top notch experience. The host family was also a perfect fit! Location, cost, and staff all perfect. Will definitely be returning! My child attended (age 17)

I have studied at Delengua in 2024 and 2025. I returned because it is such a great school. The teachers and staff are excellent (a big thank you to Laura and Jorge and Angela) and it’s a nice environment with the cultural and other activities. I started last year as a beginner and have made so much progress. I have also made lots of wonderful friends through the school. If you’re thinking of studying Spanish in Granada.. look no further. I hope to return again soon.

If you are considering attending Spanish language classes in Granada, I can heartily recommend choosing Escuela Delengua. I spent a few happy weeks there, back in March. The classes were well structured and great fun ☺️ The requisite points of grammar for the level were well covered, but the emphasis was on oral production... Animated by our wonderful teacher María José, we were encouraged and cajoled into speaking Spanish. The social calendar was full and varied. There were social and cultural events offered every day after classes. Nights of shared tapas, guided visits to historical monuments, and walking tours of the city; all led by cultural and teaching staff. It really was a fun 2 weeks and lovely to be part of the family 'Escuela Delengua'. 5 stars from me.

Incredible! I did a 2-week course at Escuela Delengua and actually really didn’t want to leave. Everyone at the school goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Everyone is very passionate to help you learn Spanish, the Spanish culture and to show you Granada at its best. Very good (and fun!) Spanish lessons (for me 2 weeks with Maria Jose and Isabel). Next to the lessons they organize a lot of excursions where one of the teachers will explain things in slow/easy Spanish, many of them are free or you only pay the entrance fee of the place you visit. Great way to learn more about the city, meet people and practice your Spanish at the same time! A great plus which many other schools do not have. Very good and affordable accommodation close/next to/above the school. Great location of the school too! To Escuela Delengua: thank you very much and see you later!

I had a great experience with Escuela Delengua in Granada. The teachers were excellent and the office staff were very kind and helpful as well. They helped me to find a doctor to visit whilst I was there. I didn't stay in the accommodation but I believe it was generally of a good standard, and would probably stay with the school next time.

They organised an activity every day of a very high standard. These were great opportunities to practice your Spanish further and learn about the history and culture of this beautiful city. At the weekends they offered paid excursions to different cities which were reasonably priced and again a high standard.

There were a lot of different nationalities and different aged students studying at the school from young to retired.

The only thing I would improve would be the course materials. I would have preferred it if they had their own curriculum to follow rather than the printed handouts. In another school I went to in a different city, they had produced their own bound workbooks which you worked through. This meant you knew what you'd be studying next and kept everything together nice and neatly. Some students would do a block of study and then return where they left off at a later date.

This would be difficult to do at Delengua and I noticed some students were repeating things they'd already studied as there wasn't a set curriculm.

I started taking online classes with Delengua during the pandemic, and finally got a chance to take an in-person class this spring. I was only there a week, and wish I could have stayed longer. Our teacher (Alba) was fabulous and the other students were all very friendly. The school is located in a great neighborhood, I felt very safe walking around the area by myself. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn Spanish in a beautiful city.

Amazing school! I went from A1 to B2 in just 8 weeks thanks to the amazing professors. The school & classes are small so you talk a lot in Spanish. They can also organise accommodation for you, which can be close to (aka above) the school. They also organise activities every day and on the weekends, so after class you can also visit the city very well. Very happy that I chose Escuela Delengua - I learned a lot & had tons of fun!

Great experience. My wonderful tutor, Laura, did a fabulous job. Our cosmopolitan group shared fun anecdotes while learning a huge amount. Highly recommended

To learn spanish with Delengua was the best decision I could have made to learn spanish and get better and better in it. At the beginning I stayed for 3 weeks and later I continued and stayed for around 3 months, so I had courses and private lessons with a couple of different teachers. And I can highly recommend all of them! They are funny and they made the classes interesting, effective and varied. During all this weeks my classes usually were with 2-4 more students, so everybody was able to speak a lot and the atmosphere was really good. I also did private lessons which I can recommend because you can practice whatever feels difficult for you and they helped my for example with writing a CV and other stuff which I needed to apply for an internship. But also within the courses they are always open for your problems or ask for topics you want to repeat.

In general the school is situated in a nice, lively location and they offer freetime activities nearly every day, which is nice to get to know the other students and the city. Granada is one of the nicest cities I have ever been to and it welcomes you with open hearts - just as they did in the language school.

The organisation with the school was quick and easy. I was working during the time I stayed in Granada so I needed them to accept the time schedule I was able to participate in private classes and they made possible whatever I wanted. During my stay I also wanted to rearrange the dates of my course a bit and it was easy to make a one week break and extend the stay for one more week.

I started with nearly no knowledge at all and my spanish level was quite high when I finished the course. I am sure that I wouldn’t have learned the language as quick as I did without their help. So thank you Delengua, but especially thanks to Jaime, Laura, Ángela, María José, María and Reina. :)

This school is fantastic—highly recommend! The administration is prompt with responding via email and carefully places each student in the appropriately leveled class for ultimate learning. Class sizes are small for optimal individual attention. The other students are from all over the world. They offer outside cultural events in beautiful Granada and surrounding areas. I attended three weeks of class lessons plus a daily tutor session. My teachers, Maria and Jaime, were professional, engaging, and helpful. Their styles were very different—but equally fantastic! Manuel was my tutor and he listened to my requests and taught me in my learning style. The school also offers accommodation, should you need.

As a bonus, I made some amazing friends during my time there! I sincerely hope I get to come back to this school again in the future!

Great place to learn/improve your Spanish and get to know the regional culture of Granada and Andalucia. Next to my regular Spanish language classes I had lessons in Spanish and Latin American literature. This is one of the very few places where I could find such a course. It was really good and I am so happy I chose this school.

I stayed at the school for three weeks and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere in the school is very friendly and familiar and I felt that the staff really tried to make everyone‘s stay as good as possible (like allocation to the right language level, support with any kind of question or need, and flexible committing to their student’s needs). For example: When I got sick the first week and couldn’t participate in classes, the school (again many thanks to Laura at this point) was very caring and considerate and helped me make the best out of the situation, we also found a good solution about my already booked but missed classes.

Also, I really loved the accommodation (basic but sufficient) which I booked via the school. It was in the same building as the classrooms (which means a perfect location in the Albaicin), and had a wonderful sun-terrace.

All in all, I felt in very good hands and will come back.

We’ve taken several Spanish courses in different places. We spent one week at Delengua taking private lessons at a B2 level. Overall, a positive experience though with some aspects that made it fall short of 5 stars.

Pros:

- Our teacher was very good, great at explaining concepts and really good at forming discussion topics to force us to use more complicated grammar and language

- The teacher quality overall seemed quite high, with an ability to teach across language capabilities

- The add-on activities were interesting and helped a lot with Spanish learning, especially the weekend tour to the Alpujarras that in combination with another school

Cons

- The school doesn’t have a strong of a sense of “community” as we’ve experience in other places, namely in Latin America, as there is a constant in/out of students and the experience overall felt more “transactional”

- The activities are also all additional costs, whereas in other schools there can be “free” activities that are already included in the base fee

Overall, positive experience and great for those really looking to do a lot of language learning or for higher level courses. Some drawbacks if looking for a more holistic cultural experience.

Another side note, and this does not factor into our rating of the school, in general it is more difficult to practice Spanish outside of the classroom in Spain as the locals (restaurants, markets, bars, museums, etc.) tend to speak English with any non-native Spanish speaker, even when trying to actively use and practice Spanish. Whereas in other countries (e.g. Mexico) the locals seem to be more tolerant (even actively excited and supportive) of language learners speaking in slow and/or broken Spanish. Something to consider if looking at options across different countries.

I cannot say enough good things about Escuela Delengua. I picked this school because if its glowing reviews and now I'm writing a glowing review. As an older student (51) and an absolute beginner, I was looking for a month-long program in Granada that would be challenging and fun. I found exactly what I was looking for with Delengua. Great staff, instructors, and students from all over.

The classes were small and the school had fun optional planned events in the evenings. I left with a fundamental understanding of basic Spanish and can communicate much better than when I started. I also left with an unexpected treat, new life-long friends. What a great place to meet like-minded people. It really was a positive experience. Both of my teachers were engaging and inspiring. They really cared about their students.

I would actually consider returning for another month to take a higher level course--after I practice a lot here at home first. My experience with Delengua was positive and life-changing. Also, the school is quite affordable and Granada is a very manageable city.
