I’m not satisfied with the service I received at this academy. I paid for 3 months of group Spanish classes, and from the beginning, I felt like I was moved between different groups not based on what was best for my learning, but simply to fill up spaces in existing classes. This seemed to be more about saving money than providing proper instruction.

As a result, I ended up repeating the same lessons multiple times. For example, one week I studied a topic, and the following week, instead of moving forward, I was placed with a different group that was doing the exact same material I had already studied. This happened more than once. I think it was because of the COVID there were not a lot of students there.

When I raised my concerns, I was told it was because my Spanish level was low. Of course my level was low — I was just starting to learn the language. But repeating the exact same class week after week is frustrating for any student, regardless of their level.

It was clear to me that I was being placed in groups to suit the academy’s logistics and cost-saving, not to support my progress. To make things worse, when I complained, the staff responded with a poor attitude and in an unprofessional way.

But at least teacher was very nice and good.

I took 2 weeks of the Intensive Spanish 20 course. Here are my thoughts:

-Enrollment was very easy. Rocio was very helpful and accommodating, and everyone who worked there was very friendly.

-I was placed in a level above where I thought I currently was. I originally had apprehension about this, but in the end, I am glad they placed me in the level they did. It really pushed me, and I think it helped me get the most out of my 2 weeks there (which included becoming more comfortable with the subjunctive mood).

-Xisca was my teacher for the 2 weeks and she is fantastic. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, friendly, and most importantly a good teacher.

-They had “after class” activities Monday through Friday which were included in the price. The after class activities were very good/helpful, but I really enjoyed the walking tours through Granada.

I would recommend this school to anyone who wants to improve their Spanish.

Three weeks became four and four become hopefully online classes, for now.

After 9 long years of not studying and speaking any spanish at all I attended intensive spanish lessons during 4 weeks and I loved it.

The Team was always helpful and you can clearly feel, they love their Job. I was taken care off, from day one, every question I had (I had a lot) was answered, every wish I made was considered.

With changing professors I had the chance to get to know different teaching methods and have found a good way for me, to study the language effectively and with fun. :)

I'm very happy of my improvement during that time and I'm already thinking about coming back.

I would like to share my positive experience about IMSOL Granada. Before to start my course with them my level of Spanish was C1 and after two week of intensive classes I got the knowledge to pass the exam C2 of Spanish.

My teenage son spent two weeks in INMSOL in June 2019. I am so happy I chose this school! All staff was extrememy professional, always available to answer questions and respond to concerns. Materials were informative & professionally done. Thank you Rocio, Javier and all your collegues! Organisation was just perfect: every detail was thought through and organised in the best interests of the student. Courses were interesting, teachers - nice and competent, and my son made a huge step forward in his knowledge of Spanish. Test at the end of the course allowed to obtain an official certificate showing the level. Every week the school emailed me a personalised report with day-by-day description of the courses and other activities. Cultural programme was exceptionally well organised, introducing the students to the Andalusian region and culture with the right balance of information and fun (just imagine - Alhambra, flamenco dancing, trip to the coast, visiting Granada...), and fostering friendship among the students. My son still keeps in touch with friends he made at INMSOL. Accomodation was in a great family with 4 teenage children of their own, all very nice and welcoming and treating my child so warmly (thank you Beatriz!). I highly recommend the Teenage programme at INMSOL for every parent looking for a safe and fun place where their teenager could improve their Spanish and get a glimpse of the Spanish culture.

I'm a Spanish professor who took a two week course at IMSOL as part of my sabbatical. Although the original Curso de Formación de Profesores course wasn't available, I was very happy with the alternatives provided. I had C2 group grammar & culture classes with Roberto & private methodology & sociocultural classes with Juan Luis. Both teachers were outstanding. Roberto is a gifted teacher who knows how to connect on a personal level with each student. He's always enthusiastic, well prepared, punctual & designs lessons to include themes around art, arquitecture, music, pop culture, etc. There was always laughter in his classroom, which is a testament to him creating a positive & supportive environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves, making mistakes & asking questions. My private classes with Juan Luis were incredibly helpful. He personalized each lesson to cover historical & contemporary topics that I wanted to explore for my sabbatical project (immigration, administrative law in autonomous communities, lenguas cooficiales etc.) He also provided a plethora of technology & teaching resources for teachers of Spanish as a second language. He also went above & beyond & set me up with an interview I wanted for my project. I've been teaching for over 22 years (16 at the collegiate level), so I've observed many educators over the years. I was very impressed with the quality of instruction at IMSOL. They support students in & out of the classroom by offering tutorials, films, field trips etc. The students are a fun, diverse group of different ages & ethnicities. The front office communicates well & seems eager to meet student goals. I highly recommend IMSOL for Spanish students (and teachers!) at any level. I hope to send my students abroad to study here in the future.

I am an older student and have attended a number of Spanish language schools in Spain during the past several years. I spent 2 weeks at IMSOL in an advanced class in June. I really liked the school. The teachers were great, the school had plenty of after hours activities, and I could tell the administration was working really hard to provide a first rate experience. Plus- Granada is a fabulous place to study. Its big enough to provide a variety of experiences outside the classroom, small enough to be entirely walk-able, and has a large population of University students. If you are considering studying in Granada check out IMSOL- I highly recommend it.

I was in Granada a month ago, and I decided to attend a Spanish course at this Instituto because a close friend suggested me to go there, assuring me it was a good school to improve my Spanish level.

In fact, I was really happy about everything. First of all, the school is in the city centre, so close to everything.. the head of the school is kind and willing to help me to find the right family where to live.. the secretary was patient with me and helpful as well, asking me every day if everything was good and stuff..and to finish the teachers were amazing! the level of teaching is really high in my opinion, I had two teachers, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, I had individual lessons, and they were just amazing, I can assure you. I used to do a lot of different activities, listening, exercises, watching movies, in only a month I reached the C1 level in Spanish, and I started from a B1. Really recommended. Bye
