You will learn Spanish in a whitewashed Andalusian house in Málaga, five minutes' walk from the beach and ten minutes from the city centre. Founded in 1979, Debla is a family-run school with garden terraces overlooking the Mediterranean, and your classes stay small, averaging six students and never more than eight.
Your teachers are all native Spanish speakers with a university degree and a teaching qualification, and you study at an official DELE and SIELE examination centre accredited by Instituto Cervantes.

How host family matching worksYour language trip in Málaga starts before you even walk through the door. If you arrive on the Sunday before your course begins, a shuttle takes you straight from Málaga airport to your accommodation, so you can settle in and rest before lessons start.
Monday morning brings your welcome at the school, followed by an interactive tour around Málaga, your first proper look at the city alongside the other new arrivals.

The activity programme runs alongside your lessons from Monday to Saturday, starting with a welcome tour of Málaga on your first day. Expect a mix of culture and coastline: a visit to the Picasso Museum, flamenco lessons on the beach, a tapas tour through the old town, a boat trip in the bay, and an excursion to Granada to see the Alhambra. The Monday walking tour is free, and the school also runs guitar lessons as an extra activity alongside the rest of the programme.

Between lessons, students spill out onto the garden terrace overlooking the Mediterranean for a break.

Language exchange evening
A dedicated language exchange evening puts you in conversation with other students outside the classroom.
Groups stay small, averaging 5 to 6 students and never exceeding 8, so teachers can work closely with each person in the room. Courses follow an intensive structure of 20 lessons a week, with Intensive Plus stepping up to 25 and Super-intensive to 30, each combining grammar work with conversation practice. Lesson slots run between 09:00 and 19:00, with some groups meeting in the morning and others in the afternoon. Your exact timetable is assigned once you are placed according to level, and you cannot request a morning or afternoon slot yourself. Before you arrive, you complete an online placement test alongside other assessments, which places you into a class matched to your ability, anywhere across the range from A1 to C2.

Debla is a small, family-run school, and that comes through in how support works day to day. Staff are on hand throughout school hours, all background-checked and trained in first aid, with an average emergency response time of under five minutes. Outside school hours, an emergency contact remains reachable, and you're given emergency numbers as soon as you arrive. Every safety incident is logged under a formal safeguarding policy. The school also reviews feedback questionnaires at the start and end of your course, and follows up directly with you and staff if anything comes up.
