Language school Ifalpes - KLF

Great place to learn and practice French for all levels. I took the B2 class for 1 month and loved it. The school had a friendly, welcoming environment, lessons were engaging and the teachers were really passionate about helping us improve. There was a diverse age range from adolescents to retirees, with a very social atmosphere so made many new friends from all over the world. Annecy is also a beautiful city and has lots of opportunities for hiking, water activities on the lake, and a beautiful old town to explore. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend this school if you want to improve your French in a friendly and motivated environment, plus, if you want to spend some time in the beautiful mountain city of Annecy. The teachers are all very passionate about their jobs and subjects, open for the students' wishes, and classes (B2 in my case) are a good mixture of grammar, listening skills, lots of debate and talking in general, some games and some reading here and there. I had lots of fun while learning. During my stay, the group was a friendly mix of people ranging from 20-70 years old and from all over the world. I can also recommend living with a host family, as I got to speak even more French in my daily life during my stay. It was very nice to be here in October, as classes seem to be a bit smaller & everything a bit calmer, and the city is just beautiful in autumn, and it still got a good dose of sun and warmth this month.

I went to ifalpes for three weeks in May and it was an absolutely stellar program. I was very much a beginner and by the end of it I felt like a confident A1 I think the teachers really care and the staff in the office also really care. I would definitely return to here. It’s definitely a bit more of a rigger course but that’s what I like and that’s what I came to do. My classmates are also really awesome and I know that has nothing to do with the school, but it was a really great experience. I also stayed with a host family which was a very special experience

I had a wonderful time during the 2 weeks I was there. All teachers are wonderful and the program tries to create a nice community of French learning people from all over the world. I learned a lot and met wonderful people there. It would be great to give more emphasis to conversational French.

The intensive programme I did at IFALPES was brilliant. All the teachers I had were very professional, approachable and supported my learning journey during my stay there. The school is not large, but big enough that you get to meet a variety of people from different places and get the chance to be in classes which are not too large, nor too small.

I would recommend IFAPLES to anyone considering doing an intensive programme. I would also recommend staying with a host family/person, as this gives full immersion into French culture, life and language.

I followed the super intensive course for two weeks with the intention of getting more comfortable with speaking French and learning some grammar since I had only studied French on my own. It was a lot of fun and more than worth it.
I learned a lot and I'll probably follow more courses here!

Ifalpes school has been an amazing and challenging experience. The teachers team is priceless, all of them very caring about your learning, and the school environment has been like being at home. Office staff always helpful and smiling, super chill about every kind of request.

I stayed 2 months, but I'd loved to stay longer. Leaving has been very sad.

Spent a couple of weeks at Ifalpes and really enjoyed the experience - very friendly staff, great classmates from 16 to 75, from across the globe. The set up works well and great offering of activities outside of class.

For people just looking to improve conversation skills it was a bit limited.

But a great experience nevertheless.

Ifalpes is a great place to consider especially if you’re desire to learn french is serious. Setting aside the wonderful city, the teachers at the school are fantastic with different level classes designed to suit your needs. In three weeks, I’ve grown more as a speaker more than I could have ever imagined. The diverse student community is what resonated with me most and the people are all nice to ensure your success. I’ll be back next year!

Excellent course activities and both teachers were great. Stephanie helped so much and used gestures to help understand. Oral instructions and teaching were beyond my level of French. I greatly appreciated her.

I did a one-week course at the A2 level. I definitely wish I could have stayed to study longer! The class size was small and all the students were very friendly. The two teachers I had were also both great. I hope to return to take another course at IFALPES in the future.

I had a great 2 weeks of french learning in Annecy with a range of classes including the intensive class, which was great because it was just a tiny bit above my level and pushed me and I also had 2 sessions of the DELF preparation, which really got me into a system of being able to start studying seriously for the exam without fear, so I went home with a number of resources specific to my own learning needs. Genial!

The tutors have a wealth of knowledge and experience, tailor their communications perfectly to the levels of their students, and explain difficult concepts with ease. Overall IFAlpes have been hugely welcoming, well organised, and a genuine pleasure to have attended. Many thanks!

I did the Standard group lessons at A2 level for 3 weeks at IFALPES and loved my time here. I felt like I learned a lot and all the teachers were warm and friendly. All of my classmates were great and the age range really varied from 17 to 74 while I was there. Classes alternate between the morning (8:45 - 12:00) and the afternoon (14:00 - 17:15) to give students the chance to explore the town at different periods of the day. At first I thought I would prefer it all in the morning but I came to appreciate having it alternate each day. I'll definitely be back for more classes soon!

Excellent school for learning French. They are very accommodating for people of all levels, backgrounds, and schedules. I did a seven week program and wished I could have stayed longer. If you're visiting the region and looking to learn French, look no further than Ifaples.

I had an amazing experience with the Ifalpes Annecy school. The welcome tour was helpful in increasing the time to acclimate to the area and all of the professors were engaging. I would definitely come back for a longer stay. I improved my French significantly in one week and can only imagine where I would be with my French if I was there for a month!

I was a student at IFALPES for 6 weeks in the Fall of 2024 and I had a very positive experience. The school, the facilities, and the teachers were excellent. I especially appreciated IFALPES classroom heavy focus on oral speaking and listening as well as focusing on grammar. I followed the standard course (level B2) with additional 1:1 instruction. The 1:1 instruction was very helpful to work on my weaker areas, i.e. pronunciation and phonetics, and I strongly recommend it. My experiences with the school staff and teachers were great and they were uniformly friendly. I felt like they really cared. The school alternates morning and afternoon classes, which better allows students to participate both in school activities, like boat rides on Lake Annecy or guided hikes, and social activities. The city of Annecy combined with the lake and mountains were super. I walked everywhere and there was an easy to use bus service. Lastly, the school attracts students of all ages and I found my fellow students to be friendly and open to talking during breaks, walking to a bakery, raising a glass, or sharing a meal together after class.

IFALPES was fantastic! I would highly recommend the school to anyone learning French. I’ve tried a few different schools over the past year and IFALPES was by far the best. The teachers were amazing and their method of teaching - mixing games, grammar lessons and themes each week really helped advance my language skills. I was never bored and felt more confident speaking at the end of my month with IFALPES. Thank you!

I had a great experience at IFALPES and would thoroughly recommend this school. The week was well organised and my teachers were excellent. My host accommodation was within easy walking distance of the school. All in all I was very pleased.

This is our second time attending Langue Onze in Toulouse...and it will not be the last! We are in our 70's so learning French might be a little more difficult than if we were younger. We spent several weeks last year at the school in Toulouse and we returned in Septembre 2024 for another 2 weeks. We're already making plans to return next year. We worked with Carole this year and she was outstanding...interesting, innovative, understanding and patient. Langue Onze makes it very easy for us to enroll and attend. We highly recommend this school.

I spent 3 months at Ifalpes last winter. It was one of the most amazing experiences, I went from complete beginner to a solid intermediate. I can’t recommend them enough all of the teachers are lovely and the support staff are stars (they helped make me a dentist appointment very early on). You make friends for life and it’s well worth the investment.

I spent an incredible two months at Ifalpes during the summer, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the beautiful surroundings to the friendly people and engaging activities, every aspect exceeded my expectations.

One of the best periods of my life! I will never ever forget my wonderful experience with IFALPES (actually, I want to register for the next summer too!). Great friendships, a cute and friendly city right next to the French Alpes, fantastic teachers who were able to transform my French skills vastly just in two months (Séverine, Sébastien, Émilie, Anne-Laure, Emmanuel, Lucien; salut to all ! J'espère que tout va bien !) and most importantly, happy memories. Here are some key points:

+ The teaching methods were modern and effective, and all our teachers were REAL experts. They not only taught the general grammar, but also helped us the comprehend the subtle details to further master the language! (Even my French friends sometimes forget that we should use "faire" with verbs, and "se rendre" with adjectifs! :D) I am immensely thankful to all my professors.

+ Annecy is beautiful & peaceful; and when you want some extra adventure, Switzerland is just nearby. (Not to mention Lyon or other major French cities...)

+ Social activities and trips were fun to join, while being informative about the culture and history of the towns we had visited. (I won't forget that "randonnée" in Chamonix btw! :D)

To summarize, in ~2 months, with the "super intensive" plan, I noticed amazing progress in all areas of my French (speaking, vocabulary, listening...) while enjoying a wonderful summer with tons of memories.

I spent a wonderful year learning French and enjoying the Alpine culture at IFALPES. The pedagogical approach is laudable, especially the one employed by Corinne (my favorite teacher) and Pascaline, Emily, Sébastien, and Emmanuel. Besides, the staff is like a family. Special thanks to my brother Lucian who was always there to help me whenever I needed anything even besides the course. I highly recommend IFALPES to anyone seeking to learn French through cultural immersion and yearning to explore breathtaking landscapes of Annecy.

I studied at Ifalpes for 6 months from November 2022-April 2023. The communication with Lucien was faultless, he was so helpful in aiding me with everything I needed to know before making the move to France as well as helping me with settling into Annecy and the school. The lessons were so well organised and I enjoyed every minute of learning. For the whole six months I mostly had Emilie as my teacher and I can honestly say she was amazing, her lessons were something I looked forward to, they were engaging and extremely fun. I felt the school really helped bring the students together by organising events and hosting weekly after class coffee sessions where students from all levels were encouraged to interact with one another. This was a great way for everyone to make friends and practice some french outside of class.

Annecy is a beautiful city and I feel so grateful to have been able to spend some time here. I’m planning to make another visit to the Annecy and returning to the school to some more lessons.
