I spent two weeks at Lacunza language school in San Sebastián learning Spanish.

All levels were catered for with an initial assessment determining the right class to join.
Handouts, exercises and homework ensured all students were engaged and supported throughout and individual one-to-one classes were also available if required.
I would highly recommend a spell at Lacunza, I learned a huge amount in the time there which has pushed my Spanish up a level.
Having learned Spanish for a few minutes a day for over two years via Duolingo, I was a little nervous about starting lessons 'in real life'. However, from the moment we set foot in Lacunza, the ever-patient and very friendly team made us feel comfortable. After a short chat with Rosa, she correctly identified that I had quite a lot of vocabulary but very little speaking confidence, and she matched me with just the right group for my needs.
Claudia, my teacher for 5 weeks, was fantastic! She had the perfect mix of chat, formal structure, mixed media and fun games to help us learn. Her lessons were expertly paced, and included plenty of movement, too, which really helps everyone keep focused. With such a creative and fun mood in the class, we couldn't help but learn a lot!
In the afternoons, there was a mixture of activities on offer, such as talks or excursions, all led by patient and positive team members. These were excellent opportunities to keep on practising Spanish, meet other people, and learn more about our 'home' in Spain from people who know it well. And then, of course, there were the beautiful surroundings of San Sebastian to enjoy as well!
During my time there, every member of the Lacunza team went above and beyond to be welcoming and helpful. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Had fun as a beginner learner. Great positive enthusiastic teacher. The organisation both before and during my stay was great and my daughter and I were made to feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend Lacunza.
The only downside was that the accommodation was a bit different than...
During my gap year after highschool I stayed for 4 weeks in San Sebastián. The Spanish lessons were very good, the teachers were nice and the staff was always ready to help me if I had any problems.
The only downside was that the accommodation was a bit different than what I had expected from it based on the information I got from the school beforehand. But overall the service of the school was top class.
Besides Lacunza-Escuela, I absolutely loved San Sebastián. I followed surfing classes, made hikes on the 3 mountains in or near the city and enjoyed the nightlife of Donostia. I never felt unsafe and the city is clean!
All in all, I had an amazing time. Will definitely visit again som time.
Great teachers and great events to help meet people and experience the culture of DSS. Highly recommend!
I had a lovely time and learned a lot of Spanish. I was only there for a week so I hope to come back again someday.
