How lessons work at Accord

Standard group lessons run each weekday morning from 09:00 to 13:00, with full programmes ranging from 15 to 35 hours a week depending on the course you choose. If your course includes afternoon hours, those sessions focus on oral communication, grammar and written French, or exam preparation. In summer, the afternoon programme also runs as an alternative for students not on the morning semi-intensive course. Before you arrive, a self-assessment form and a written test place you into one of six levels, from complete beginner to advanced, so your first lesson matches your ability from day one.

  • French lessons weave contemporary French culture directly into the material, with teaching geared towards effective, practical communication rather than grammar drills alone.
  • Every teacher holds a university degree and a recognised teaching qualification for teaching French as a foreign language.
  • Teachers write and continually update the school's own course materials rather than relying on a single fixed textbook.
  • Classrooms are bright, spacious and fully air conditioned, fitted with audio-visual equipment.
  • Free high-speed Wi-Fi runs throughout the school building.
