About the school

Want a home away from home? There is a wonderful family atmosphere at Gadir language school. Teachers and students call each other by name from day one and interact with each other in a friendly way. An important goal of the teachers is not only to teach their students how to speak Spanish, but also to feel Spanish. The school is located in a detached building near Bahía Blanca, which is only a few minutes away from the historic center and the beach. Gadir has a green patio and garden where you can have lunch and relax in the sun between classes. Inside the school you will find a lounge, a library and seven classrooms. The lessons are of high quality and accredited by Cervantes. In order to make them as interactive as possible, the teachers try to teach their students to speak Spanish through debates, role plays, presentations and other practical lessons as much as possible.

Cadiz

One of the best kept secrets of Andalusia is Cádiz. This city, located on a small peninsula with a vast bay, is the oldest inhabited city in Western Europe. You will find an atmospheric old town with narrow streets, nice squares with terraces and beautiful historic buildings. Cádiz is known for its particularly hospitable inhabitants who always laugh and spontaneously start dancing flamenco on small squares. The city has several beautiful beaches of which the most atmospheric one is probably Playa de la Caleta, located in the old town and overlooking the marina.

I work as a Spanish teacher in the UK and every year I take a group of teenage students to Gadir to learn the language and the culture of Spain and Cadiz in particular. The staff is really friendly and experienced and the management will always go the extra mile to ensure everything goes to perfection. The prices are really competitive! I can't recommend Gadir enough!!

I came to study Spanish in Gardir back in 2010. My experience with the school was so positive and the teachers and everybody were so helpful, I have returned at least 10 times over the last 6 years. The school is not very big therefore it provides an opportunity to maintain a close relationship with the students. It is situated in the new city, a few minutes from the sea but is very close to the old city. Over those years, I have developed a very good relationship with the school. This year, I had been back in March for a three weeks course and am returning in October for four weeks even though I have a good grasp of an adequate level of spoken and written Spanish, I really like the contact with the school and the students. I would recommend this school for everybody who would like the idea of studying in school which provides a warm environment, good quality of teaching and approachable staff. :)

I studied here at the intensive level 35h/week for two weeks. For preparation, I had followed the Herber audio course. At the end, I could explain my job at home - in Spanish with some cold sweat in my part and a lot of patient support from my teachers who happened to be a history professor from the local university. How come?
My little preparation had tanken me beyond the bloody beginners group in the first week into a very motivated group .of 3, and into a group of 1 (!) in week 2 - at no extra charge.
I loved this challenge, however, after class, I was mostly took tired to Join any of the school excursions on offer.
I was most impressed by the market where I managed to buy fish an vegetables. I enjoyed most the endless, lonely beaches across the bay.
We stayed in El Puerto and took the ferry to school rather than waste time and money to find a parking space in Cadiz.
This was a magnificient vacation.
