Paris is known as the city of love and as soon as you set one step in the French capital you notice that this title makes sense. Everywhere in the city - from gourmet restaurants to bistros and bakeries - you will find the most delicious food. People on the streets seem to walk in the haute couture of the Paris catwalk and the effortlessness with which the Parisians can scintillate self-love is unprecedented. Paris is a proud city. Classic tourist attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the Notre-Dame characterize its impressive image that is displayed confidently to the outside world. But of course, when you follow a language course in Paris you want to see more and discover the underlying beauty of this city. And you will: life is celebrated exuberantly in the small bistros and cafés of the Montmartre artists' quarter, and in the shops at Iles Saint-Louis in the middle of the Seine they invented the word 'style'. Do not forget to visit the bars and restaurants on Rue Mouffetard. The best thing about learning French in Paris is to let yourself be carried away by the Parisian culture, its inhabitants and their way of life.

I'm very happy with my school year at Etoile. I spent 9 months (3 of which were spent at home due to the covid-19 restrictions). I managed to grow from A2 to C1 which is a huge success for me. Fees wise the school is not cheap but it's a lot less expensive than a lot of other institutions like that in Paris. I do recommend this school as classes are not big and teachers always have time to answer any questions you have. I will miss it for sure :) |

My first term at Étoile was close to flawless. I loved my instructor and made many friends! I couldn’t attend the first week of the term because my host family needed me to work extra hours. I intended to attend week two but heard from my classmates that the second term had been very disorganized. There hadn’t been a professor assigned and the administration kept putting our level (B1) with A2. Many of my former classmates complained that they were getting nothing from this term and wish they hadn’t chosen Étoile. Rather than attending week two I decided to contact the school for a refund, but was rejected even though I had not attended a single class. I would not recommend this school to anyone after this experience. |

I am posting again to emphasize my frustration with Étoile. It seems as though I get a much faster response from reviewing on Google than contacting them through email. The very first day of school I contacted Étoile saying I wouldn’t be able to attend the term. It’s a month later and they are still refusing my request for a refund. They haven't even offered a partial refund. It seems almost fraudulent to take €440 from someone who very clearly said from the start that they wouldn’t be attending. As an au pair, this is a significant financial setback. I assume they think people will eventually accept that their money is gone, but I will not. |

You should pay attention! Even though you're sending them money, they will not respect your working time at all. Depending on your niveau they will send you in class. You have to choose between 3 possibilities. I've choosed two of them but they wanted me to be there every morning. So if you have to bring the children at school in the morning or if you have something else to do in the afternoon, you should be careful. It was an au pair cours I have choosen. I have to take care of the kids, have to bring them to school. I thought that should be clair but it's just a title. They don't communicate with you. The administrativ service doesn't know everything. I tried to talk to them. All what they said to me " we do our best to solve that problem" , but there was no response, no initiative, just words (les mots très bien choisis mais sans sens à cause de l'action manquant). You pay and they decide. |

If you want to take classes there, make sure you double check who is teaching before paying. At the beginning the professors are good, but afterwards they switch professors and it became a catastrophe. Extremely slow, class materials poorly prepared, and you found the teacher checking her phone during class. Not worth it, I found myself wasting my time and money, not a happy experience overall :( |
