Language school LSF - KLF

I did a four week program here and really enjoyed it. The professors were great. I worked with Delphine for the standard course and Xavier for the intensif and they were amazing. Would have stayed longer if I could, but sadly had to come back to the real world.

I had a wonderful experience at LSF Montpellier. I only had a chance to be there for a week, but I found everyone I spoke/emailed with at the school to be friendly, responsive and helpful. They helped to arrange a host family stay for me, and then quickly found me another when the original stay fell through (through no fault if the school) at the last minute. The classes were challenging, and engaging, with a good mix of grammar and conversation practice. I learned a lot in a short time, and left hoping I'd have the chance to spend more time there someday soon.

My experience with the school was beyond my expectations. I arrived to Montpellier without planning to take a french course but one day, passing by, I saw it and spontaneously decided to book a visit. I was warmly welcome, and I decided to give it a try and bought just one week. After that, I booked 5 more weeks and the accommodation in a shared flat. I went from the B1 to the C1 within this time, having had 4 different professors. It was super easy to follow the courses, as everything was well organised, interactive and very interesting to me! I met so many people from all over the world, every week, thanks to the events they organised, the common areas, and all the interactions we had within the classes. The team always tried to satisfy my needs and was available for emergencies or special requests. The accommodation in the shared flat was the best solution for me as well, as I could live with other international students from the school. And Montpellier, with its region... is just amazing!!! It is one of the best experiences I have ever done and I strongly recommend this school!

Our 14 yr old daughter spent two weeks at the French camp and had an absolutely fantastic time! She made a lot of progress in her French and also built great friendships along the way. The activities were very well organized, and the communication with parents was excellent, which we truly appreciated.

If we could suggest one improvement, it would be to include more guided outdoor activities where the kids are encouraged to use their newly learned French in real-life situations. This would make the experience even more immersive and practical.

Overall, we are very happy and grateful for such a positive experience. Highly recommended!

I love the experience with LSF, school is beautiful, teachers are kind and helpful, lessons are interesting, and also there are many outdoor activities that we can choose to attend. Such a wonderful summer experience in Montpellier.

Excellent school with wonderful teachers and support staff. I spent two very pleasant weeks here studying French and I wish I could have stayed for longer. The location is superb with easy access to dozens of good restaurants within walking distance. I will definitely come back if I get the chance.

This is my fourth spring enjoying language classes at LSF. Usually enroll from 5-6 weeks each time. Keep coming back as I always enjoy the profs, meeting other students from around the world and of course learning French. Highly recommend!

I was very happy with choosing this school to learn French! I started in A1 and moved up to A2. The two teachers I had were fantastic. The school is a great choice to learn French and they offer plenty of activities to meet and connect with other students outside of class. I would go back!

This is really the maximum of stars that I would give this school, and they are mostly for the communication prior to arrival when I booked quite spontaneously, the school-internal free time events like introductory city tour and bar evening, the teacher Anissa & a welcoming and friendly host family (even though note that this option might require to adapt quite a lot based on what I heard from other students), and the city of Montpellier.

The most important part for me when I book a language course however is learning the language, and I was not satisfied with that in the end. I thought that B1/B2 were pretty much the same level here, students' levels are quite mixed, classes can be quite slow and mistakes are not always corrected, which to me is again very important when wanting to improve the language. I did not feel like I made much progress here and did not enjoy classes too much, with the very positive exception mentioned above. When I raised problems with the school, I did have the impression that it was more on the student to find the solution for themselves and pitch it to the right person, rather than trying to find a good solution together. In my case the only options were to stay in the class that I did not enjoy so much or go one level down, where it turned out that the content/grammar/level were exactly the same as the previous week though. I did have the impression that progress is not tracked (I guess as teachers change every week that would be hard to do) and students are just expected to level up after having spend x weeks on one level. I booked the school because of two separate fantastic experiences at another KLF school where I made a lot of progress in a shorter time so this part was really disappointing to me. Full disclosure, I also had some personal issue that sometimes made it difficult to fully participate in class so at least I could sometimes come and go at different hours which I appreciated.

I was in class in Montpellier every day for 8 weeks, and had class with 3 different teachers. Every day for me was filled with warmth and a supportive and thoughtful learning structure. The classes were small, and so well managed that I learned more than I thought possible and also just had a great time!. I highly recommend this school.

Montpellier is absolutely beautiful. The school is in a perfect location right by the Arc de Triomphe. All the staff were friendly and professional. It was brilliantly organised, with care taken to put us in the right group with students of a similar level and my two teachers were excellent. I had gone for a week as an experiment, not sure if I would be able to cope with lessons in French after many years away from the language, but it was a great experience and I hope to return.

I loved my time at LSF. I learned so much and the classes moved at a good speed. My only concern was some of the teacher took long breaks (30 mins) when the class was only 3 hours. Other than that, i would highly recommend!!

Really great language school. I really enjoyed my 2 weeks there and feel my French has improved a lot in a short period of time. I did the intensive course then the standard, and felt the latter was better for me as it gave me time to digest the learning from the morning. I also did the homestay which was good, but I like my own space, so would get an Airbnb if I did it again!

I can highly recommend lsf in Montpellier. After a warm welcome the staff was available for questions at any time. The teachers were enthusiastic and very committed to encouraging you to speak French. The size of the groups varied. At times they were a bit too large with 14 students in a small room. I will definitely return for another course next year.

I can highly recommend this language school. Great teachers and very friendly contact persons. I like the concept that a new topic is covered every week with a different teacher. This means you can join in at any time and also switch between levels. I booked the B1 20 group +6 private lessons course. Anisa as my private teacher was great. She listened to my wishes and tailored the lessons accordingly. We even baked crepes and visited a restaurant together. Varied, warm and of course informative. Merci beaucoup!

The only drawback is the premises. A bit cramped, outdated and unfortunately not enough sanitary facilities.

The school is incredible. Teachers are friendly and prepared. Location "Génial"! And on top this students are very well taken care of in terms of their general stay. A lot of activities are organized daily to allow for socilaizing and discovering the French culture.

My time @LSF in Montpellier was one of the best experiences I ever had. The teachers were first class, the staff is friendly & helpful, the location of the school is perfectly situated in the city center and Montpellier is a great city to spend several weeks.

I will be returning for the next level of French!

It was my second year at the school. That in itself, says a lot! I have found the school willing to assist and to help with regards to day to day practicalities. I found the two teachers joyous and energising with respect to their tuition. I really liked the other students. The school encourages all ages, and this year my class was aged 16 years to 70 years. We were all as one. I also felt very well accomodated with another single female 'host' who was delightful.

I have had a great stay at LSF. The courses were well organized with the opportunity to learn a lot by improving the grammar, the speaking and also the vocabulary. The accomodation was also good. The teachers were very competent knowledgeable and friendly. I will return for sure. Raf

This review is long overdue. I attended LSF back in February/March of 2022 and loved every moment there. The staff was very friendly and professional, and they helped me with so many other things besides my studies — such as purchasing my train tickets online, showing me how to get to my destinations, helping me with my banking statement, etc. Yenifer is an absolute gem and so eager to assist, and Christelle was so welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend this language school. I loved all of my teachers — all were very professional and supportive.

My experience in LSF Montpellier was definitely good, the staff and teachers were always very collaborative and empathic. Teachers are well prepared and always willing to help students. I definitely recommend this school if you want to learn/improve your French language skills.

I went to Montpelier to take a French intensive, but this wasn’t the first school I learned about … I am SO thankful that this is the school I ended up at. Every part of this school shines — the teachers (i.e. Claire B.), the administration, the activities they organize, the facilities; and the location! 5 stars without hesitation.

I loved my time at LSF and would recommend it to any French learner. The school puts a particular emphasis on fostering community, and provides a near daily activity option for students to pursue. The instructors were uniformly talented, engaging and kind. They provide a day 1 intro to make sure new students are familiar with the program (something I didn’t experience at other language schools in France). The coursework encourages participation and discussion in a lively way.

The 30 minute lunch period between the standard and intensive course is tricky, but otherwise I’m a major fan!

Wonderful experience at LSF in Montpellier! The courses are well organized, and the school also offers several activities during the week that give you the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the French language! All the Staff of the school is really helpful and welcoming. A lively and colorful city to experience at 360 degrees. Would love to come back one day!

The teacher, Xavier, was very good. Thanks to him, the lessons were interesting, interactive and varied, with plenty of opportunities to practise speaking French.

I was in LSF for a week this year and loved it so much that I have just booked a place for 2 weeks next year. The school is well organised and the teaching is very good. I would really like to mention Eugenie who has been sooooo helpful organising my requests for my stay next year.

I've just completed a two week course at LSF and have only good things to say about it. From the time I booked, communication has been excellent and any questions or queries I had were dealt with so quickly.

Classes are varied and interactive and the atmosphere in the whole school, both in class and dealing with admin, is so encouraging. I was in Melody's class, I found her attitude and approach to teaching so positive and she was so receptive to any questions students had.

The schedule of activities was varied and allowed students to discover new areas in Montpellier and take part in a variety of activities. (I absolutely loved the watercolor workshop)

Overall I fell in love with Montpellier and wish I had booked in for longer. I hope to come back again soon! 🇫🇷

I studied with LSF for 1 month (march 2023) and had an incredible time!!! I took the intensif stream and my teachers were extremely enthusiastic, caring, and funny. The school and classes had really fun activities as well, the content was always very interesting and the size of the classes were just right in my opinion. They have different class locations in Montpellier (all within 5-10 min walking distance from each other) which I personally enjoyed bc it was a nice change of scenery every week. The city itself is beautiful - large enough to always find something to do but small enough to find your own favourite spots and establish a routine where it slowly starts feeling like “home.”

If you decide to take any language course, I HIGHLY recommend staying with a host family. I was really lucky with mine - they cooked traditional french meals and we had conversations about politics, food, and the differences between our cultures even with the little french I had to begin with. They also give me some tips about where to go in the city which were extremely helpful. Since coming back home, I’ve tried implementing some french meals and habits into my daily routine (that I thought were really cool) which I wouldn’t have learned if I had not stayed with a host family.

After 1 month my french and confidence in speaking french improved tremendously (A1 to A2) and after returning home, I tried to continue my french learning by watching shows, listening to podcasts etc., even deciding to enroll in another language school in my city where I took a level assessment through a phone call and learned that I’m now at B1! Seriously one of the best experiences of my life and I highly recommend :) Thank you LSF!!

LSF has great teachers. Montpellier is a fun city to study French.

I have been here two weeks for study french, during summer. I can say a good 10/10, literally nothing bad to be said, and only good things. the segretariat is very competent and ready to answer questions and to act if problems arises. Also, the platform of e-learning is very good and simple to use.

My daughter Luna started French A1 level at LSF Montpellier in June 2022 in an amazing experience that we both shared in such a beautiful city. She could grab great language skills offered with utmost proficiency and in a very healthy and supportive environment. We would like to thank all the administrative and educational staff at LSF for their professional and sincere efforts.

I was extremely satisfied with LSF in Montpellier. I have done intensive language study before in Vienna, Mexico, and Germany, and I was an English teacher to adults in Frankfurt and Madrid for 2 years. So I think I have a pretty good idea of what makes a good language program -- and how hard it can be to administer. For these reasons, I'm especially impressed by LSF.

I did quite a bit of research to find the right school in Montpellier. LSF had the highest online ratings, which was a good start. The staff was very helpful in the registration process (Thank you, Karen and Yenifer). I think they did a great job of assessing which level I should be at (which is very important!) And when I had a health issue, and could not start the in-person class, they made available to me their online e-learning platform, which was fun, interesting, academically rigorous, and truly helped me learn a lot of French extremely quickly. The platform addressed grammar, vocabulary, but also listening and writing exercises which were reviewed by one of their excellent professors (Professeur Azadée). It was a fun, relevant way to familiarize myself with modern day French culture.

My in-person class with Professeur Mégane was outstanding, too. She did a tremendous job of making the material enjoyable, while we also learned the important grammar and vocabulary through a lot of discussion, as well as reading and writing exercises. Even though people in the class ranged in age from 15 to 58 (me!), we were all able to enjoy each other's unique perspectives and experiences -- all "en français."

The school's building is beautiful, and the location is in the heart of the fun of Montpellier. I know that LSF offers a huge variety of fun trips and excursions, though I did not tend to take part in those. Montpellier has a glorious variety of outstanding restaurants for any budget.

I plan on returning to LSF next year, to continue my French studies. I'm looking forward to having my wife take classes for beginners, while I continue with my intermediate level. In the meantime, I have a lot of excellent study materials to keep me progressing in French.
