About the school

In the Salamanca district, in the center of Madrid, you will find the growing school AIL. The school is on the first floor of a modern building in a busy street in the luxury district of Goya - named after the Spanish master painter Francisco de Goya, whose works are often found in Spanish museums. Around the corner you will find the Retiro park, one of the largest parks in Madrid, which lends itself perfectly to escaping the hustle and bustle of the city center. In the school itself there is a Chill Out Room with lounge sofas where you can relax, learn and study between classes. Every teacher at the school has Spanish as their mother tongue, so they teach with ease and without any accent. The school attaches great value to the structure and quality of the lessons, which are therefore always well prepared and interactive.

Amazing school! They have such a great education system, the professors are excellent, the classes are not just fun, but also very interesting. Going to class is very pleasure and I am learning a lot everyday. Besides that, the location of the school and the activities they provide us are amazing too. They have new activities everyday! Madrid is amazing, and knowing Madrid with AIL team has been awesome! And people who work there are very professional and helpful, they are always there for everything we need. All the team, they are just incredible, Ricardo is the best one in the studend care team! I am very happy and grateful that I chose AIL and that I am living this great experience in Madrid with them!

Took a group course for a week at AIL Madrid in February to freshen up my Spanish before I started another course at the Latin American Institute back home. It was my second time at AIL Madrid and I can only say positive things about the school! My classmates were fun, the staff is very professional and funny at the same time, my teacher Dani thaught me a lot of new stuff, was very engaging and also made sure that everyone hat a great time during the lessons. Recommended without hesitation, as this is certainly one of the best schools you can get into.

Disorganized and poor Administration.

First I was told there was availability in the level I required. As I had filled out the registration form, copy of my passport, etc. I was under the impression my spot was reserved. I called in with my credit card and payment was taken. Later on I was told the group was actually full, and the person blamed ME saying I should have booked earlier. They then refunded me and told me they would contact me 3 weeks later when the group was starting.

I never heard from the school so I again reached out. I was told that there is availability and they are holding my spot. I then received another email saying the group is actually full but probably they are going to divide it in 2 groups and then I can join....so I again waited (while feeling very confused). I then received an email saying I am confirmed and that they would call me the following morning for payment.

Nobody called me. I again reached out and was then told "Unfortunately, the academic department are putting it off and make it harder. The students are doing an exam and we need their marks to see who is going back to preparation units and it will empty the space in the group." So now I somehow lost my space again. Even though the previous email stated "we are holding the spot for you".

This administration is the worst I have seen. I was confirmed, then unconfirmed. Then again and again and again. For the price they charge you would think they would be organized, professional, and have good customer service. Unfortunately they have none of the above.

I would not recommend this school. You get jerked around with no apologies or valid explanations given. Very bad and unprofessional service.

I'm two weeks into my classes, which I'll be taking for at least 2 months. As soon as I paid my deposit AIL reserved me a place in a class for the times I wanted at a level that was perfect for me! I'm studying B1 with Daniel and I love my classes! We spend lots of time talking in class and doing activities to help cement what we are learning. Daniel makes sure that we are learning and welcome questions, he also gently corrects mistakes, in such a way that I'm not afraid to try to use the new grammer for fear of misspeaking and being harshly corrected. I also love that I have classmates from all over the world.

The one downside that I have seen is that sometimes the after class activities are not always on the day the schedule says that they are. But I've enjoyed the activities that I've been on. They have taken me to places that I probably wouldn't have made it to on my own.
