"I attended this Spanish school in Valencia from October 2024 until mid-December 2024, having booked my course back in July 2024, and I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough. I did the intensive option (20 hours per week) and found it very fairly priced for the quality and value offered. Class sizes were well balanced, which made it easy to participate without feeling overwhelmed. I was incredibly lucky to have Christina as my main teacher. She was attentive to each individual, very welcoming, and had a great sense of humour. One thing I especially appreciated was her thoughtful way of integrating new students into the class. Because some students were long-term and others joined for just a week or two, she encouraged us to introduce each other whenever someone new arrived. This was a brilliant ice-breaker: we practised spoken Spanish while talking about our classmates rather than ourselves (for example, “I’d like you to meet my neighbour X, who is from France and loves painting and gardening”). It created a warm, inclusive atmosphere from day one. For the intensive course, the first class followed a more structured programme, with a good balance of reading, writing, speaking and listening, and grammar woven in naturally. The second class usually had a wider range of levels and focused much more on communication and activation of language—listening to songs, discussing photos, debating topics, and playing games. There was very little explicit teaching and much more real use of Spanish, which I found extremely effective. I particularly enjoyed the sessions led by Mercedes; they felt like a safe space to practise, make mistakes, and improve. On the administrative side, everything ran very smoothly—from booking the course before I even arrived in Spain, to day-to-day communication if I was sick or running late. The staff were always friendly and welcoming, and it was genuinely nice to arrive each morning to smiling faces. I was also very impressed by how the school handled the DANA weather situation. They proactively decided to close the school ahead of any official government guidance, based on their own assessment of AEMET forecasts, and then adapted quickly once official guidance was issued. Because this caused some unexpected closures, they allowed me to reschedule missed classes for a later date, which I really appreciated. Since finishing my two months there, I’ve recommended the school to many friends I’ve made in Valencia. It’s an excellent school, and I would happily return in the future when I have the time."
