Language school Linguaschools Granada

Before I get to the reason I only gave three stars, let me say that I think the teaching, class structure, and course materials were all fantastic. I feel like I learned a lot.

The reason I only gave three stars is because the organization, in my experience, is chaotic. Here's my experience, in point form.

I applied for three weeks of the course 'Conversation 10' online, about ten weeks in advance of my arrival in Granada - I wrote to the school with concerns that my level wasn't high enough for the course - the school replied no problem, we'll place you appropriately - I didn't receive a class schedule at all - about a week before my start date I got a message to come to my first class at 11:00 a.m., still no schedule - arrived for my first class, short interview, I was told my level isn't high enough for the course, I should take grammar instead, come back tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. - I arranged my schedule in Granada to accommodate morning classes (I was working) - I had two weeks of fantastic classes, both teachers were great, the class dynamic was fun - at the beginning of the third week I came to my 9:00 class, and I was told the class time had changed to 1:15 - I rearranged my day and came back at 1:15, and was told that my class was at about 3:00 for the next week - it was too late for me to re-arrange my work schedule, so I lost a week of classes, about 120 euros' worth that I'd paid for, no apologies.

So: if you are in Granada with a completely free schedule, and you can go to class any time, I rate the teaching very highly, five-star. I say this as a participant, and also someone who has taught English as a second language for years - I understand the value of engaging and competent teachers, and the pleasure of learning a new language in an enjoyable and productive way.

But - if you are in Granada for work, or some other reason that requires you to have a regular schedule, this is probably not a good choice for you.

I had 10 hours of intense lessons Spanish grammar and I improved my Spanish tremendously. Thanks to Maria, such a great teacher. And the organisation is smooth. Next time I'm in town, I will certainly do this again.

In September, I took a one-week course at Linguaschools. The teachers and the school were very good and I had a great time.

Studying at Linguaschools and living in Granada for almost three weeks was an incredible experience - a lifetime worth of memories to be cherished for a long time to come. The teachers were all one could wish for: professional, kind, helpful, funny. There are positive vibes throughout the school and both the staff, teachers and students are simply amazing. The extracurricular activities such as churros at Cafe de Futbol, a field trip to Carmen de los Mártires, tapas night or a field trip to Córdoba speak for themselves. I am already planning my trip back to Granada, the town I have totally fallen in love with. Needless to say I will be enrolling back to Linguaschools. Thank you very much for everything. I will return soon. Granada forever!

I wanted to make a quick review for any queer people who start reading the reviews and get turned away as I had a completely different experience from what the other reviewer had. I’m trans and queer and had the time of my life in Granada, I stayed for three months from April to June and the school felt like home. It was welcoming and accepting of EVERYONE, and the teachers are the most energetic loving people you will ever meet. If you’re at all considering this school I wouldn’t let the other review put you off, because I can’t imagine what that person said happening in such a loving environment, so whatever problem the school could have had regarding that situation must have been resolved.

I had the opportunity to study with LinguaSchools Granada in 2022-2023 for nearly 8 months and I loved everything about it. All of the professors were extremely kind and made classes really fun and engaging! Even after months it still felt like I was learning in a fun way, not another chore. I had such a great experience I even went on to take more courses with LinguaSchools in Barcelona, but I missed the close community of the school in Granada 💜

I had a wonderful experience at Linguaschools Granada! The staff is very professional and take time to help students individually while teaching the whole class. We would have conversations about our interests to help us practice speaking Spanish, but also practice the grammar we were learning each week. They planned fun activities after class to teach us about Spanish culture and help us continue practicing our speaking. I told them my goals in learning Spanish, and they helped me specifically meet them, like taking and passing the DELE and ACTFL, etc. The teachers also gave great suggestions for enjoying Granada and the area on the weekends! I got to explore all of Andalucía over my stay. The school apartment was clean and both the school and apartment are located in the city center.

One of the best learning experiences in my life. The teachers are all excellent and very attentive. The school also organises a wide arrangement of activities after school hours that can help you explore granada and andalucia and build a social netwerk with your fellow students. I know for sure i will be coming back!

My teacher, Ana, is absolutely fantastic. Situated in the heart of Granada, the school's location couldn't be more ideal. The atmosphere exudes warmth, making it incredibly inviting and friendly. Moreover, forging friendships with fellow students was an enjoyable and enriching experience.

Ana, the teacher, is amazing. The school is located in the center of Granada, which is perfect. The environment is warm, welcoming and friendly. I took an Intensive 20 course and my grammar, comprehension, writing, and speaking skills increased tenfold. I also enjoyed making friends with other students.

I’ve tried a few different methods and schools since I moved to Granada from the states, and Linguaschools by far has been the best for learning. The grammar sessions reinforce basics and build more on top with every lesson, and the speaking sessions create an environment for everyone to be comfortable speaking and build their confidence talking about current events and topics that come up at the water cooler at work or out at a bar with friends. And the best for the last, the teachers, every one passionate about language and ENGAGING, it was impossible to be bored, and the most fun way to build skills in Spanish!

Last year, post covid, I decided I wanted to travel again, especially visit more of Spain and also improve my spoken Spanish. So I spoke to a friends and he recommended Lingua school so I booked a week (including accommodation) during September 2021 for beginner/intermediate lessons. This turned out to be one of the best decisions and weeks I’d ever had!

The teaching was brilliant; fun, relative and interactive. The other students were from totally different parts of the world, this really added to the experience and reminded me of university. Then, there is the fact you’re in one of the best cities in Spain with so much to do and see! After school you can visit the Alhambra, go for endless (free) tapas, and then enjoy the varied nightlife of the city.

I enjoyed it so much I came back to do another 2 weeks!

In october I have had a great time at Linguaschools Granada. An excellent program with full attention for grammar, vocabulary and speaking skills of the Spanish language. I have learned in one week more than at home in 5 months (1 hour a week). In a small group with international students of different countries and marvelous teachers I became on a higher level Spanish in a short time. Linguaschools is situated in the centre of the beautiful historic city Granada. Besides the intensive program regarding the Spanish language there were opportunities to learn more about the history, the arts and the culture of Granada and Andalucia. The excursions were guided by well informed specialists. I lived in an apartment shared with 2 other students of Linguaschools Granada. There are a lot of opportunities to enjoy the nightlife of Granada. When you order for a drink you always get a tapa for free. I am looking forward to go again to Linquaschools Granada. It will feel like coming home. I definitely want to recommend this language school. You will have no regrets. - Sorry I cannot delete the double photos

I have attended Linguaschools Granada on two separate occasions for a total of six weeks. I returned to the school this summer because of my great experience the first time.

Linguaschools Granada is a small Spanish school located very close to the center of town. They offer group and private classes, then in the afternoon, different excursions around town. The optional afternoon activities include a variety of adventures, including a neighborhood walk through the Albaycin, a Flamenco show in a famous cave in Sacromonte, and a visit to the Arabic Baths. Each week the activities change! For example, there is a "Ruta de Tapas" where a teacher takes the students to a couple great tapas bars. On the weekends, there are trips out to locations outside the city, like a day at the beach or a hike through the Sierra Nevadas.

All of the teachers are amazing. I worked with Alicia and Ana on this trip. Both were so friendly and helpful. They made the classes interesting and useful. Sometimes we would work on reading and writing, or other times we would simply chat (while secretly practicing the subjunctive and my speaking and listening skills.) I took some group classes and private classes. Both had their advantages. In group classes, I met so many students from different countries and learned about their cultures. In private classes, I was able to get individualized lessons for what I needed to work on. Between classes, all the students and teachers would go to a cafe across the street to chat and unwind.

During my first stay two years ago, Linguaschools connected me with a Spanish family to live with. I had such a great experience, I requested the same family and was able to stay with them again. They all were so friendly and patient as I tried to speak my broken Spanish to them. Every day their would be a HUGE lunch with the whole family and sometimes even the neighbors. I loved spending time in the living room chatting with them as I completed my homework. They even included me in family events, like a weekend at the beach or a dinner out to watch Spain in the World Cup. I would completely recommend staying with a family if given a chance. (My Spanish mom works with several schools in the Granada area, and she says Linguaschools is the best.) :)

I returned a second time to the school because it was such a great, personalized experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Linguaschools to anyone wanting a true Spanish experience.

Linguaschools in Granada is an excellent school, in fact it is the best one I have attended in Spain. I would highly recommend it. The teachers were very competent and dynamic and they made all of the lessons interesting. The after school and weekend activities were brilliant and many free or very reasonable. Some of the teachers came to these and it was a good way of practicing Spanish. There was a lovely homely atmosphere is the school. The secretary was very helpful with practical things and tourist information. My group got on well together an we socialized in the evenings. There was a good mix of ages and nationalities.
