Great school! The teachers are professional and friendly, classes are well-structured, and the atmosphere is international and welcoming. I improved my Spanish a lot and really enjoyed the cultural activities. Highly recommended!

Teachers are great: Nuria I liked the best. And Antonio get a wink 😉 for fun. The classes are structured well and explained in a good way. However, the school is mostly geared towards young schoolkids. Also, the interns (that run the school activities) are schoolkids. As a 40+ woman, I would recommend choosing a different atmosphere. After one week I chose Spanish school El Carmen instead. Cheaper and many more older people that already live here in Valencia.

I am very happy for having chosen Esquela Toranja to study Spanish in Valencia, Spain. I want to thank all the dedicated professors who nurtured me in their classes with patience, good humor and dedication. I especially want to thank the coordinators, Andres and Micaela for their support.

I’m one week into my two week course and I must say how pleased I’ve been with the school.
On my second day, I had the opportunity to have paella 🥘 and then head to a bar with other students.
Yesterday I went to a stunning art museum.
From the get go, the classes have been great. So many opportunities to practice speaking but there’s always a grammatical focus woven into the lesson.
As a teacher myself, I’ve been very happy with the way quality of teaching. Focused on communication over accuracy.
The facilities are fantastic and there’s air conditioning in the school. The classroom is very cool and for some reason cow themed 🐮
I am looking forward to the fiesta on the beach on Friday!
Thank you Taronja ❤️

From day one, the school went above and beyond my expectations. The teachers — especially Carol and Antonio — are amazing. They teach in a super playful and easy-to-understand way that makes learning fun. Their energy is contagious, and the classes never feel boring or stressful.
What really stands out is how interactive and lively everything is. This isn’t your typical school — every day is different, and the daily activities are a great way to meet people and practise Spanish in real life.
The school is also in a prime location, right in El Carmen, near the famous Torres de Serranos. It’s such a cool area to explore before or after class.
If you’re thinking about learning Spanish, I highly recommend Taronja. Great vibes, amazing teachers and team!

A wonderful way to meet people, learn Spanish and immerse yourself in cultural activities. The school has such a high calibre of teaching and a wide variety of students too. Great way to get to know Valencia, thank you Taronja!!!

I spent a few weeks taking classes here. My level is B-1/ B-2. Overall I enjoyed the school and their activities. They have a really fun and tasty Paella party every Tuesday. I only give them four stars because of the "zig-zag" schedule which has classes switch between mornings and afternoons. It wasn't clear to me that this was not optional and it really made remote working in the US difficult where afternoons I had to be working.

This has been my second year visiting La Taronja language school. The school has excellent teachers and is very well organised with many extracurricular activities. I am a very mature student and was made to feel just as welcome as the many younger students.

Carol and Nuria are excellent teachers. Well organized, informative, and engaging. Everyone at the school was helpful. I think one week is not enough, but it is definitely worth it.
MYM
Highly recommended language school to learn Spanish in Valencia!
A great range of cultural & social activities as well as parties & events appropriate to the time, season & location.
This is my second time here studying Spanish & I have not only improved my confidence to articulate myself both written & verbally, but been open to new ideas & new cultures & perspectives from around the Spanish speaking world- muchos gracias!

Really impressed with the friendly and inclusive school vibe and the standard of the lessons. They were very attentive to students of all ages. The school facilities provided all the needs of the students to a high standard with areas to relax in comfort, study and resources for use in class and independent learning. During my week long taster I was able to attend 3 evening social events that were great fun and very reasonably priced. I will definitely return later this year for an extended period of time to develop my Spanish further.

The school is fantastic. The way of teaching is very creative! They keep your attention for the whole time you are in the class.
For me it was 4 weeks, I'm 63 years old, I think 3 would have been better. You get lots of information. So the last week I was very very tired. There are nice activities and they are open for activities ask for by the students. Young and old is spread out over all the class rooms. It is very easy to get in contact with the younger people.
I would like to do it again.
València is the best city ever. Big, compact, beautiful atmosphere and wonderful to bike around. There are beautiful bike pads and people in cars take care of you when you are on a bike.
See you later!!!!

I love Taronja and could not have asked for a better overall experience. I have a friendly recommendation for the school. I think the professors should provide more evaluative comments to students after the week of classes especially for students who stay more than one week. I would like to know: How am I doing? What do I need to work on? What advice do you have for me to practice out of class? This need not be summative or extensive possibly just a few minutes. This could be optional for the students who would like the feedback.

The Taronja language school in Valencia is excellent. The teaching staff - Pablo and Amia in my case, were both great: very professional but also relaxed and fun. The lessons were very interactive using a range of modern techniques. I had hoped to work on speaking and the classes Achieved that. Taronja is highly recommended snd Valencia provides a beautiful setting, with culture, history and the coast. I look forward to returning

Me encanta la escuela Taronja! Learnt Spanish for one week on A1 level. If I had more time, I would have extend it for sure! It feels like you get teach by a friend! Amazing how much you can learn in just one week! I can speak basic conversations. They also organise activities every day during the week, including Saturday! I want to go back for sure!

Great experience !!
The teachers are very dynamic, smiling and think of fun ways to teach us Spanish.
The school is very active and offers many extra-curricular activities and excursions.
The shared apartment was comfortable enough, clean and close to the school, which is located in the city center.
I would love to go back to Taronja soon 😊.

Update (July 2024)
Excellent school with great teachers, shootout to Carol and Nuria just to name a few. I was able to make some good progress on speaking and writing just under 3 weeks of classes.
Definitely recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn Spanish easily while having fun!
——————————————————————
Just started in this school after reviewing the many great reviews on Google.
All I can say is it is well organized, there are fun and diversified activities and teachers are great and passionate! Plus apartments are very confortable and well located in the city.
Furthermore, the school building is modern and has all amenities needed to study Spanish.
Will update my review towards the end of my 3-week course but we’re off to a good start so far :)
OK
Everything was perfect since the first day.. from the first to the last day I had a wonderful time with open and nice people around. The school was well organized, the teachers friendly and competent, and especially the interns did a really good job with the organization of activities which made it easy to connect with other students.
I really can recommend the school.. thank you for 8 amazing weeks! ☺️😊

Really enjoyed my week at this school. Teachers are very enthusiastic and the school is very social with activities. I like that the lessons switch during the week
Between morning and afternoon. So not every lesson is in the morning or afternoon. Acces to the ‘virtual aula’ and more learning contents is definitely a plus. My size group was perfect, 7 people. But I also saw larger classes, which I think are too big for interactive learning

Taronja school has a very special atmosphere. Just being in the school is an immersive language leaning experience. The teachers are enthusiastic and great at engaging everyone in the lessons. As each lesson is with a different teacher, we experienced a range of teaching styles and ways of explaining the nuances of the language, which further improved our understanding.
The students in the classes are varied too, of all backgrounds, ages and languages. Highly recommended. I hope to be able to return.

It's been 50 years since I went to 'school' and it was with much trepidation that I booked to go to the Taronja school. I had imagined that I would be the old man amongst youngsters in the class, but although I was the oldest there, I found we represented a good cross section of ages.
The first couple of hours in class was rather difficult, but that was because I felt a long way behind the other students regarding ability. There were 2 reasons for this, firstly the first subject of the day was about regular and irregular verbs, which is, at least for me and some of the others, difficult, but I soon began to make headway thanks to the excellent teacher. Secondly, I really should have attended the previous week as well; purely my mistake when I booked online.
When I look back at the week at the Taronja school and the amount I have learnt I am very impressed and I would go back for more but unfortunately it's a very long way from home and being a family man I just can't justify it but if it was within daily travelling distance I would be happy to spend many weeks there. I am considering using their online courses, but we'll see.
For anybody thinking about going to the Taronja school, just do it!

Learning Spanish in taronja was one of the best decisions of my life. I met a lot of great people and made new friends from different countries.
I had the curso intensivo and conversation. This allowed me to improve my spanish considerably.
We also had interesting activities every day. There was also plenty of nightlife.
I can only recommend taronja to anyone who wants to improve their spanish skills and simply have an unforgettable time!
Thank you very much !

I have had a great experience with Taronja. Last year, I tried learning Spanish for 2 months and I came back this year to improve my Spanish.
The school has a very helpful staff who goes above & beyond to help with all you need. Almost all the students I talked to at school never wanted to leave if they had the option to stay.
They have daily activities so you can get to know a lot people and find out more about Spain (cuisine, museums, history and much more). My favorite one has been the paella parties that happen every Tuesday. Especially when they happen at the beach. I also liked the bachata/salsa lessons a lot! All the activities are very well priced so the students don't have any excuse to miss them. Big shoutout to Stefano and her team for all the amazing activities.
There are a variety of instructors with different backgrounds which helped me learn about different cultures without visiting their cities or countries. They are all super helpful when you have questions during the classes.
The school also offers variety of accommodation options such as staying with other students in the heart of Valencia or staying with a Spanish family. This is a great opportunity to get the know new people if you are new to the city. Elena was able to help me with all my requests from the first day until today.
Overall, I recommend Taronja without any doubt to anyone who wants to learn Spanish, explore Valencia, and more importantly have fun! 🙂

I spent one week at Taronja School, studying A1 Spanish and would go back in a heartbeat💕. The small classes were very engaging, and teachers were enthusiastic and caring. Taronja is much more than classes though, every night they had engaging activities where you could practice Spanish with fellow classmates and explore new places all over Valencia, and beyond with the teachers and ambassadors of the school. I had so much fun and met the most wonderful people from all over the world. I am in my 50s which I think is significant because they truly treated every person like family and had a group Buena Vida for people over 27 😂 to connect and be able to do things together. I'm really looking forward to going back In the future. They also have housing at a reasonable rate if you're staying for a longer period of time . Thank you Taronja☀️💐🎉

Taronja is an excellent place to learn Spanish, the lessons are well prepared, interesting and full of surprise. There are also diversified social and cultural activities at a very moderate price. The school offers rooms in shared flats, what suited me best. Everybody is very helpful and sociable . Taronja is the perfect place for getting introduced into Spanish culture. It was my second time at Taronja and I shall come back!

Excellent Spanish teaching with skilled and friendly teachers. Lessons are tailored to your level and you can create a very bespoke, flexible course. Good extra-curricular events too.

I just spent 11 weeks at Taronja and loved every minute of it. The classes were fun and engaging and my Spanish improved a lot. You have 2 different teachers each week so you get to experience different teaching styles, they also have activities 6 days a week so you have the chance to socialise outside of school hours and get to know the other students and teachers. I loved it that much that I’m going back for another 5 months in February, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would recommend this school to anyone who’s looking to learn Spanish and also meet lots of new people.

Taronja Valencia is a great place for learning Spanish and experiencing the Spanish culture! Teachers at the school are excellent, and the school organises many fun activities! I’d love to come back here in the near future! ☺️

I had the opportunity to stay in one of the school's shared flats, which was simple but clean and perfect for my time of stay. The school is well managed and organized, and the teachers are well-prepared and engaged. They also organize extracurricular activities, which I enjoyed, as they were both educational and fun.
I highly recommend this amazing school. If I could, I would definitely stay at the school for a few months. I hope to be back at some point and do another course.

I returned to Taronja for a third time to prepare and take an exam. This time I realized that a lot of the attraction of the school is the atmosphere and the fun. If you are serious about learning Spanish this is not necessarily the best school. I went this time for two weeks to prepare for an exam and took the full package of lessons, conversion classes and private lessons. Whilst I have nothing but admiration for the teachers in the private lessons, the rest was 90% extended conversation classes. There is an illusion of structure but it is not respected. I leave my previous comments to respect the integrity and coherence of what I am writing now.
I really enjoyed my time at Taronja. For me everything came together for a fantastic experience. The teachers and teaching methods are great, the school has a great atmosphere where one rapidly feels comfortable and part of what is happening. The mix of different ages is also fantastic, it is great to get so much intergenerational contact. Finally, Valencia is a fantastic city; a nice size, loads of things going on, and I would almost say that it has a spirit.

Dear Taronja,
Allow me to express my gratitude to you all. This last month has been a quiet a journey for me and I am grateful to learn and grow alongside incredible souls. A huge thank you to all my teachers and the whole team at Taronja for your dedication and commitment. To my teachers, I know I have not been the easiest student but you guys are awesome. Thank you for your patience, encouragement and guidance ( especially Nestor & Micaela 🤍 ). I am going back home more bold and I will definitely continue to work on my Spanish skills. To my fellow students, you are definitely at the right school. It was pleasant to meet some of you and enjoy your stay in Valencia.
Thank you Jenny and Andres for making my classes possible.
See you for sure next time.
Love
Brenda
Ps. Next time I will write in Spanish 🙏🏽

OVERALL
As a school teacher (of Maths and some other things), I had supported the Spanish trip here with my pupils in April 2023. I could see what a transformative experience it was for them so much so that I wanted it for myself.
My time at Taronja can only be described as excellent. Everyone at the school tries to ensure you have the best time possible which is impressive based on the carousel of students who come-and-go each week. All the staff treated me with kindness and respect. Thank you to Maxi and Fernando for running such a unique place.
The last 4 weeks at Taronja have been exciting, interesting, eventful, busy, enjoyable and compact with information. The last time I studied a language was 14 years ago. I was not very keen on languages in school but my time spent at Taronja has made me believe that I can learn a language to a much higher level than I ever thought possible. That alone has been worth it.
LEARNING EXPERIENCE
The teachers were fun and engaging. As an absolute beginner, I did the Intensive course + conversation class + private lessons. That helped with my exposure to the language and the private classes were helpful in ironing out some issues. I did this for the first three weeks, then extended by a week and "dropped down" to "only" the intensive course, which is plenty.
If I were building up for an exam I would definitely pick up the private classes again.
And the conversation classes were energetically delivered to give you important insights of Spanish conversational etiquette.
Overall, I was able to enjoy lessons taught by patient, *knowledgeable* and kind teachers, who have reminded me about the importance of these characteristics in my own teaching practice. Teaching beginners must be tough and it was done with grace, style, poise and importantly, a smile. Thank you Laura, Carmen, Antonio, Miguel Angel, Nestor, Carol, Jenny, Nerea, and especially Mica and Paula for your infectious energy and humour.
ACADEMIC ADMIN
The organisation of the timetable and classes was clearly communicated in advance via WhatsApp.
I know some people didn't feel as though they were in the right class for their level and changes were made almost instantly to help. This was managed by the academic team.
SUPPORT
Organising, arriving, and extending my stay was made very easy by the ladies at the front desk, in particular Elena and Roza! Emails were responded to promptly and they were always so helpful. Waving to them in the morning and getting a wave back made things feel a bit more like home!
SOCIAL
Plenty of opportunities to socialise with others at the school. Most people I attended school with were between 19-25. But there was also a considerable contingent of older pupils too (e.g. 31, 40 and 70!). This is all taken into consideration when forming classes and social activities.
There are activities organised by the school for every day of the week. I went during high season (i.e. the summer) so there were a lot of people. Some activities are linked to other language schools which broadens your pool of potential connections. A lot are free. Many are heavily subsidised. Because there is a fluid change of people from week to week the extent to which you find things socialable will depend on who you share your time at the school with. But similarly minded people would pay money to attend a summer school, so it's likely to be fine for you, as it was for me!
As an over-27, I was added to a WhatsApp group for additionally organised activities.
BOCARIOS (Interns)
An excellently led intern team support the activities and were a good group to talk to in general. Very helpful!
GENERAL THOUGHTS
When in Spain and doing things, there is a naturally occurring opportunity to practice the language. Whether you decide to is your own choice! And indeed your experience in general heavily depends on you 😇🥰. Approach it with an open heart and fresh eyes.
AK
Great school, excellent oprganization and wonderful teachers. I dont know how it is in high season (July, August), but in June there were small groups of 3 - 7 people, which gave the opportunity to speak frequently. The teachers spoke only Spanish which was a great lesson. I spent two weeks there and regret that it was so short. I highly recommend!

I love this school! During my seven weeks at Taronja I’ve learned a lot (I hope I’ll remember all those verbos irregulares!). The lessons were very well organized, easy to understand and highly communicative, so even with my basic level of Spanish I could participate in all discussions and do the tasks. The teachers and the staff are great: young, friendly, creative and ready to help with everything! Most of the students are under 30, but there are a lot of learners over 45-50 like me, so I felt absolutely comfortable. We really had fun together at different events and activities, organized by the school every week: parties, excursions, dancing and cooking masterclasses or just picnics in the park. Valencia is a great place to visit and Taronja is the right place to study Spanish there!

The best spanish school you can find in Valencia :
Lessons are formative and never boring,
The school offers a weekly and always different programme of cultural and leisure activities that are very helpful to practice the language, discover the Spanish and Valencian culture and make new friends.
Teachers are competent and very friendly, they will make you feel like in a family and soon they will become your friends!
Personally i stayed 3 months in this school and not only i learned spanish, but i have shared lovely moments with great people i will always remember with affection.
Vamos Taronja y gracias por todo!! ❤️
SI
I highly recommend Taronja! The school has been around for many years but recently got a brand new facility with brightly colored walls and excellent smart board technology. I had several different teachers, all of whom were excellent, and I found the curriculum very well organized. I especially liked the way the school’s advisors worked with me before and when I arrived to find the perfect placement for me. The majority of the students are young, but as a 50+ student, I’m happy to report I found classmates my age, too, and met some really interesting people of all ages and nationalities. In addition to classes, I took a couple of private lessons that really helped me. A huge plus for Taronja are its activities; every night you can participate in something - totally optional - from walks around the city, to cooking classes, to painting classes … And on the weekend they offer amazing excursions!! All great ways to practice your Spanish and experience Spanish culture. If I went back to Valencia, which I hope to do, I wouldn’t consider any other school. Thank you Taronja!!!
L
I did a Spanish course in Taronja for one week and I loved it. In particular I appreciated the interactive way and the discussions that were promoted within the classmates to learn and talk. The activities organized by the school were also great (thanks again Nando for the fantastic paella class!). Last but not least, Valencia is a beautiful city and perfect to learn Spanish also outside of the school!

After being with Taronja for a couple of years now online I decided to take the plunge and do their immersion course in Valencia, which, for a 54 year old, filled me with apprehension !! I have to say it’s one of the best things I’ve done to progress and improve my Spanish, the schools new location was ideal situated at the edge of the old town near the Turia park. The facilities in the building and classrooms were excellent with information screens, whiteboards and air conditioning also there is great chill out space on the ground floor to relax in !!
The standard of teaching was excellent with varied topics and wide ranging conversations and discussions with time taken to explain things if you weren’t quite sure or needed clarification on vocabulary or grammar. I had 4 teachers in total, including the conversational workshops, and I can’t praise them enough, they were all absolutely fantastic.
I must also give special mentions to the reception and activities teams who were friendly, professional, helpful and a joy to deal with on a daily basis with nothing being too much trouble.
All in all a fantastic experience one which I hope to repeat in the future.. Well done Taronja ☺️

Taronja is a really nice school to learn Spanish. I would definitely recommend this when you are looking for a opportunity to study Spanish in Spain. The atmosphere is very chill and friendly, teachers like teaching and helping you. They also offer lots of fun activities everyday which you can participate in voluntarily. This helps you in meeting so many new people.
I really enjoyed my time at Taronja, and I would like to return if I can ;)

It‘s my second week at Taronja Spanish School and I absolutely love it. The teachers and students are all very likeable and it’s easy to get to know new people. The classes are great because the focus is on the speaking but they still teach grammar just in a more interesting way. Also the activities are awesome. They are all different so everyone finds something they like. All students are in a good mood and enjoying Valencia.
