It was the best decision I’ve ever made! The teachers were so kind to everyone, especially Gema. I had her for grammar lessons, and she taught me so well! I will definitely go there again!

In this institute in the center of Málaga you can learn Spanish. It is located in a classic building on one of the most beautiful squares of Málaga. Plaza de la Merced. I started with classroom lessons. In a group of 8 people. In small rooms. Young and old together. Lessons in a relaxed atmosphere. By different teachers. Learning is fun here! And afterwards relax on one of the many terraces in front of the door with a drink and some tapas. Good to practice Spanish right away. Learning Spanish at Instituto Picasso is fantastic. Learning Spanish at Instituto Picasso is fantastic.

Instituto Picasso is, by far, the best language school experience I have ever had! I have gone back over 5 times to study Spanish in the picturesque Mediterranean port city of Malaga, Spain. The school is situated in the cultural center of this ancient city, a block away from a 1000 year old Moorish fortress and castle, ruins of a Roman amphitheater, and subterranean ruins of a Phonecian neighborhood–to name just a few of the cultural wonders that surround the school’s central location. Instituto Picasso is a perfect place to immerse yourself for a one of a kind language learning experience.
The staff of the school are friendly and easy to work with to set up your accommodations and class schedule. The registration process was quick and simple (and surprisingly affordable including both classes, and housing)! There are several great options for housing, whether a private apartment, shared apartment, or homestay, they have accommodations of all types, for all types! The amazing language instructors at the school have countless years of collective teaching experience at all levels and backgrounds. The entire staff at Instituto Picasso are kind, patient and thoughtful people and comfortable to work with. Beyond the great language classes, they offer group activities and events to further engage visiting students, staff, and locals outside of the classroom.
Instituto Picasso is a fantastic place to study Spanish, immerse yourself in the local culture, and meet new and exciting people from all over the world!

Instituto Picasso is an amazing language school for all language levels and needs. I did two courses here in the last two years. First, A2-B1 and recently B2. And I loved every moment of it. All the teachers are extremely professional and put a lot of effort into making lessons educational and at the same time full of great energy and friendly atmosphere. The prices for the courses and accommodation are very fair. There are also additional activities every week besides the classes (both for free and paid) so that everyone can find something for them. Highly recommend this school!

Instituto Picasso is an amazing school.

The teachers, staff and students are all friendly, welcoming and great to be around.

With the structure of the course, you will learn Spanish with ease in a fun and relaxing environment.

You progress, if you feel ready, and can change levels based on your preference.

Learning a language is a solo journey but Instituto Picasso make you feel like they are alongside you throughout.

Every week there are new activities organised by the school: from learning how to cook Paella, to visiting museums and monuments. There is something for everyone.

The staff are very helpful with any requests that you may have.

I would highly recommend Instituto Picasso to anyone and everyone.

I think the school is just great! Especially the family atmosphere. The teachers are all interesting and professional in their own way. I have learnt a lot! The girls in the office are great, they help with everything and they always have an answer or recommendation. All in all, a great organisation! I will definitely come back!

I had great one on one experience with teacher Gema, she made the class very relaxing and fun, but at the same time tons of valuable information! Also the school is located in very center and I had a great arrangement of home stay, which was 10min walk from the school and 20min to the beach! All in all great experience!

Super helpful teachers, are very nice to the students. For private lessons I had Gemma. She was really nice. I had her for the second time now and she is funny but can’t play table football because she lost to me

I learnt a lot and had a wonderful time during my 12 months at the school. I experienced quality teaching at a centrally located school.

I met my learning objectives, inspirational teachers, and great friends.

Intensive course material (school’s own course books):

Clearly set out, explanatory and appropriate to my level of understanding (useful for familiarisation and revising).

More visual /audio equipment/ technology may have enhanced my experience. My learning objectives were met, though.

The teaching:

I benefited from a mix of fabulous teachers with their own personalities, methods and:

incredible language knowledge; dedication and commitment; enthusiasm; patience; interest in all cultures; joy; laughter; thought-provoking questioning; humour; calmness; passion; and genuine interest in you, the individual.

Here are some positive teaching characteristics which I experienced:

Toni: shared concepts clearly, with personality & professionalism; Elena: adaptability, student focus /care, music enthusiast; Laura: superb language knowledge & passion: Jorge: humour, encouragement, & innovation; Gema: motivational & joyful lessons; Carmen: classroom management; Angel: equal opportunity to speak/ shared interesting cultural information; Isabel: grammar points delivered with impeccable clarity & a smile; JD: spectacular language knowledge; Uli: calm, patient approach; Olivia: patience, perception, & drawing out potential; Ana: interesting discussion and games to enhance grammar points, & Violeta: engaging conversation classes, reinforcing prior learning points in a memorable way.

Activities and Excursions:

Gave me a chance to meet others, practise Spanish, and make friends.

School admin and management:

Very supportive. They helped me find solutions to things that came up before and during the course. Mel and Inessa spoke to me with professionalism, warmth, and a fabulous sense of humour. They, Conchi and the team, welcomed me with a smile.

Private Lessons:

Jorge was brilliant, focusing on areas which helped achieve my learning objectives.

DELE B2 preparation course:

Superbly delivered by Laura. She provided excellent exam tips and boosted my confidence.

Things that I am thankful for, or wish I’d done:

1. Fantastic excursions

2. The weekly Taberna-de-Jarana-quiz-night (run superbly by Violeta at Antonio’s cracking bar).

3. I moved from morning to afternoon sessions and vice versa (twice). It was possible by giving the office plenty of notice and because class capacity and occupancy permitted it at the time. There were different teachers in the morning versus the afternoon, which enriched my overall experience given the length of my stay.

4. At various stages I felt I needed to reinforce some of the learning points. I paid for private lessons when I needed them.

5. Self reflected after lessons (what went well/ what needed work).

6. I enjoyed the diversity of classmates attending a varying number of weeks.

Summary:

I believe that the intensive course I underwent was value-for-money and shared large volumes of content. It suited my learning needs and budget. On the occasions I needed extra support or flexibility, the school had a provision for that.

(A long review after a long stay! )

I just finished my C1 course at this school.

I recommend the Picasso school to everyone.

The staff, the teachers, the atmosphere are all wonderful.

The organization is really great. Everything is organized down to the smallest detail: a unique experience.

The school also organizes many wonderful activities for the students in the evenings and during the weekends.

I will be back with pleasure because it is rare to find such professionalism.

Thank you for everything

Motivated by the wonderful spring/fall weather in Spain and the Mexican beaches in the winter, I decided I should learn some Spanish. I just finished a 2 week Couse (A1), and must say it was a great introduction. Having not studied for many years, the intensive approach was a challenge for me, but the staff was supportive and into the 2nd week I realized the hard work was paying off. I still have to review the course content to really know it, but am motivated to continuing studying Spanish here in Amsterdam this summer (Uva) and hope to be able to communicate adequately when I go the Mexico for the winter months. Best of all I met some great people and the Insituto's location ( Plaza de Merced) was a great place to hang out.

Gracias y hasta la próxima IP

I did a language course of 4 weeks at Instituto Picasso and can highly recommend the school. The organisation ranging from the accomodation, classes and external activities was excellent. You might not get the most modern appartment (even though some other students did have modern appartments) but the appartments are definetely large enough and close to the school, also meaning perfectly located within the city of Malaga. Whenever I had questions about changing classes, prolonging my stay in the appartment, the school staff could perfectly help me. Teachers and classes were also very good and helped me to quickly improve my level of spanish (from almost no knowledge to A2+/B1). Even though I cannot tell for other schools in Malaga, I am sure you wont regret staying at Instituto Picasso.

Brilliant school. I attended for only one week doing a B1+ course plus 2 private lessons in the afternoons. First day was bit intimidating as classes are done totally in Spanish and teachers talking at their normal pace. I mentioned it to another guy in class and he told me by your 2nd week its actually helps you get the rhythm of normal speaking Spanish. Indeed by the end of my first week I could understand pretty much everything being spoken at normal pace which was a big improvement for me in a week.

Course was very very intensive. I had done a 2 week course elsewhere and covered more in a 1 week course in the Instituto Picasso than in the 2 week course I had done previously.

You have one teacher than covers different subjects in the first part of the morning and then a different teacher for a conversation class every morning up until lunch. It’s a great way to help you develop listening to different voices, accents etc and also introduces you to every teacher in the school so you feel very integrated.

Private classes with Carmen were great. Rather than just conversation she identified a couple of area I had problems with and concentrated on them and I felt I made great progress in only a week. By my last day I had totally found the rhythm and was speaking a lot more fluently and relaxed and that was only after 1 week!!

Another thing, in my last school I found it really difficult to understand what other students were saying in class with the masks. Here I could understand everything even though we were still wearing masks. The acoustics were much better in the classroom.

Overall a fantastic experience. Class was a lot of fun too. Students improving everyday(you can hear it). Great atmosphere. Great city. I think the way Spanish is taught here it would be possible to learn it super fast and super well compared to other schools. After only 1 week my Spanish went to a totally different level.

Hi to Elena, Carmen and all the other teachers and thanks for your help.👋

I was studying in this language school, it’s very well situated, in the city centre, the school has a very good atmosphere, the teachers are nice and very professional, the students are from all over the world. Every now and then they have wonderful activities, the last Friday of each month they cook paella, the students and teachers participate in the preparation and cooking. I spend fantastic 7 months with them, learned my Spanish very well, got to know a lot of people and have several close friends from the school. Good memories for my whole life. I’m still on good terms with the teachers there. In conclusion, it’s the very place where you should learn your Spanish, and you won’t regret it!
