I’ve been here for 8 weeks and had a really good time at Stafford House. I’m so happy that my English has improved a lot. Merlyn is a really good teacher, not only because of his teaching but also his kindness. I will always remember this place by heart.

Studying the CELTA course was a transformative experience for me. It significantly shaped my teaching approach and thoroughly prepared me for the classroom. The trainers were highly experienced and demonstrated a consistently positive approach and attitude throughout the course.

Nieves is truly one of the most outstanding teachers I’ve ever met. She constantly goes above and beyond to plan engaging and meaningful activities for students, bringing energy and creativity into every corner of school life. Her dedication doesn’t stop at organizing events — she always approaches each student with genuine kindness, warmth, and respect.

What makes her truly special is how deeply she cares. She listens, encourages, and creates a safe space where every student feels seen and supported. Her positive attitude is infectious, and her presence makes our school a better place every day.

I first took General English with Ms. Nieves and am now studying Cambridge Exam English with her. She always comes to class well-prepared and puts a lot of effort into making each lesson energetic and meaningful, which I really appreciate. Her high energy and enthusiasm make the classes far from boring, and they’ve helped me adjust well to life at the language school in London. I’m also really thankful for all the useful tips she shares about living in London—they’ve been a big help!

I am taking classes with Nieve, and I appreciate her enthusiastic and dedicated approach to teaching. Attending school has become something I genuinely enjoy each day. Thanks to her support, I have gained much more confidence in speaking English. I look forward to continuing my studies with her and further improving my language skills.

Nieves is a great teacher, you can tell she loves her job. She always tries to make the class fun while learning. And everyday I leave school having learnt something new.

Wow, what an amazing four weeks! It had been over 30 years since I was a student, and during the first week, I really felt out of my depth. However, the encouragement, support, and constructive criticism from my teachers and fellow CELTA students kept me going. The course is incredibly well-structured, and you learn so much in such a short time. Be prepared to put the hours in and put your life on hold while you take the CELTA, it's intense but absolutely worth it. I highly recommend Stafford House to anyone considering taking the course.

I just wanted to share our experience with Stafford House London. My daughter spent 5 weeks there on the intensive IELTS prep course, and she absolutely loved it! The school has a great variety of classes and groups, so there’s something for everyone, no matter what level you’re at.

A big shoutout to her teacher, Julian — he’s a real pro and did an amazing job preparing her for the exam. Thanks to him, she scored an 8 on her IELTS, and we couldn’t be happier with the result.

She stayed at Premier House, which was amazing. The rooms were fantastic, the food was great, and in the evenings, she had access to the common area where students could hang out after classes. It was a perfect spot for them to practice English, share common interests, and make new friends.

The school’s location is also awesome, with lots of cool London sights within walking distance. My daughter said these were the best summer holidays of her life, and we’re so glad we chose this school. Huge thanks to Stafford House London for such a fantastic experience and outcome!

I have just completed a Celta course at Stafford House, London. The course was thorough, well- planned and structured in a way that enabled me to feel that I was learning and improving as I went through the course. It was delivered by experienced tutors who are passionate about their teaching and dedicated to instilling the right methodology in order to heighten student learning and interaction. I would thoroughly recommend the course to anyone who would like to learn how to teach, whilst being given all of the essential materials and pedagogy at the same time.

I had an opportunity to study English at Stafford House for 4 weeks on General B2 and for 2 weeks on Business English.

This is an amazing school with the best teachers and such smart, open-minded, and motivated students from all over the world.

All the teachers I met are very professional, all the classes are interesting and I had fun with all of them. My favorite classes were general b2 classes with Mark, two fantastic modules with David - grammar and colloquial English, and Business English with Merlin.

Also, we had a lot of social activities there to explore London and meet new people, pub night with Ciall was enjoyable.

And I want to thank you to the Academic office - Cameron and Pam for being very helpful with all the questions I came to them.

I enjoyed my time at school and I feel more comfortable with speaking English. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to study there again. ❤️

I'm a student in teacher Tazeen's B1 class. This month has been amazing, she's a great teacher, she's patient, she knows how to explain and she's a lot of fun. I'm loving the school too, it has a good structure and the staff are attentive.

I can highly recommend Stafford House if you're considering doing any of the teacher training. The location is great and the team there are all amazingly helpful and kind. My tutors especially were fantastic. Overall, this is the ultimate safe space for personal development, growth, learning, teaching, and everything else that comes with doing the CELTA. Just finishing the CELTA intensive at Stafford. It was intense! The instructors were extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the course. I feel much more equipped to be in the classroom. The practical portion of this course was very valuable. Stafford was supportive, encouraging and fun. Great place to take any English related course!

At first I was very confused because I just changed my class to b1+ but!! Helen is very kind to teach me even though sometimes I don't know the lesson, thank you.🫶🏻

The beginning was very difficult. I arrived in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people. But Nieves is the teacher I was hoping to have. She's infinitely kind, funny, understanding and encouraging. That's exactly how I want to learn, without rushing myself and not rushing things. I'm quite sad that we have to change teachers next week. I find that the learning methodology, this kind of change and the ins and outs need to be explained from the start. Many things are not explained from the start. I don't like being told at the last minute. I'd really like to stress that I'm disappointed by this kind of change just as I'm gaining confidence and getting used to the environment.

As for the class, the other people are great and caring. I've been able to make some links over time.

It was a fantastically delivered and well resourced course. John and Jenny were professional and supportive and contributed to a great learning environment. Working together with similarly motivated CELTA Students and learners driven to improve their language made it a thoroughly enjoyable month. Hard work though! Be prepared to put in elbow-grease and time!

I took a full-time CELTA course at Stafford House in 2023. The course itself is well-designed, and gives you the chance to immediately put what you are learning into practice. The cycle of learning, applying and feedback is both concise and cohesive. The tutors are professional and passionate about their work. If you are interested in teaching English as a second language I couldn't recommend it more. I feel ready to walk into any language school and teach.

In the process of completing my CELTA course at Stafford House. The staff especially John and Jenny have been such wonderful tutors, and have taken such care and time to help us grow as individuals and especially as EFL teachers. It fantastic to see how they cultivate the learning of the students, something which we all on this course hope to do one day too

I studied a part-time Celta course from September to November 2023, and I have to say I quite miss it! I mostly studied this course to become a qualified EFL teacher, but I also wanted to enhance my personal development!

I had never taught a thing to anyone in my life and I was very nervous for it, but I'm so glad I did it! If you're an anxious person, this course is really going to push you out of your comfort zone (which is a good thing- how else will you grow?), I definitely recommend it. The workload was a lot, even for a part-time course, so make sure you leave PLENTY of time to do your work (this is really important). I'd personally recommend the part-time as I felt I was able to actually digest information and process it slower, I know people who do the full-time celta sort of feel a bit bamboozled as it goes so quickly and is very intense.

The students we taught were generally very lovely if you build a rapport with them first, and then suddenly teaching becomes a little easier and less daunting. I was also very lucky to receive a bunch of awesome celta classmates and we all helped each other when needed!

I had a lot of really good support from the teachers; Louise and John. Louise has a lot of knowledge on teaching, she's very experienced and was able to ask me questions that helped me to think about my procedures and contexts of the lesson, which I believe is very important. She was awesome and very constructive with her criticism! John has an incredible tv-presenter like teaching personality and had all of us engaged in the input sessions! He has a natural way of making students feel comfortable, I never felt confused or unsupported by him. John was very knowledgable and encouraging during feedback so as not to knock your confidence down. He was very kind and lovely to all students, which goes a long way if you're riddled with self-doubt! I really appreciated both of them and the support they gave.

There were some things I felt could be better, as I said I was very nervous to teach and I had never stood in front of a class before and I felt this process could have been a little easier. Perhaps for our first teaching lesson we could have done a smaller section from the book or a game for 15 minutes each? Just to get used to the idea of leading a class. Because they really do throw you into it. Most people who have taught before would be fine but I definitely was panicking like crazy before my first lesson.

I also felt towards the end my confidence was diminishing; there was too much feedback and it felt like I kept doing everything wrong even up until my last lesson. That wasn't a very good feeling. Teaching English I've heard isn't as complicated as I was made to feel and I mostly wanted to help students learn in a fun and engaging way, but I wasn't able to do that because I was so nervous of mucking it all up that I kept to the book and didn't let things get fun in my lessons :( I still feel a little self doubt in my abilities as a teacher because of all the negative feedback, but i'm aware my skills will develop with real-life experience.

Sometimes I felt there was no clarity on where resources were and how to use them, although no one can hold your hand through life of course, it still felt there was a lack for me there.

The building itself is a little older, toilets are going to be improved (hopefully). I felt that the classrooms with no desks were a little odd, and theres not really anywhere to leave your teaching materials whilst teaching! But this point might be a personal preference. Also the lower ground floor room made my eczema go crazy so just keep that in mind too.

HOWEVER, in general this was a brilliant idea for me, a bit pricey for what I received, but I've passed my Celta and I'm really glad I pushed myself to do something like this. If you are like me, scrolling and reading reviews wondering to yourself if you could handle anything like this, you most definitely can, just keep your head on and your wits about you and I promise you, you'll be fine. Push yourself, it's worth it :)

I did my Celta from September to November 2023. I found this a very pleasant experience from the beginning to the end of the course.

I found the staff very helpful and polite and they always helped me whenever I needed it.

Even though the course itself is stressful but the support I got from my trainers made it much easier. As I was required to do teaching practice at two different levels, both trainers were really helpful and encouraging. As long as you do what they teach you and respond to the feedback, you will find the course very easy to pass. The trainers have excellent knowledge and experience, and you will be glad you enrolled here.

I will recommend this course to anyone who intends to pursue a career in English teaching 😉

I attended a free English class for the first time today, and I liked it very much, I was lucky enough to be in two different classes and I liked the methodology, they offer free English classes two hours every day, it is a great opportunity for those of us who cannot pay the academy fee at the moment. Honestly, Stafford House London is the best thing that could happane to me. From the induction day to the graduation day, everything was amazing!

The staff at reception is very kind and understanding. They will assist my friends and me any time from answering questions to showing and taking us to the classroom, if we couldn't find it.

Academic office is always there to check on students' achivements and enquires. Besides having a huge range of courses and lessons, I was still abel to ask about other options for my module classes.

I will definitely recommend Stafford House to my friends. It was experience of a lifetime. Not only to study, but finding and having new friends. I am very lucky. Stafford House London gave lots of friends and now I can visit all of them all around the world.
