My husband and I had such a great experience learning Spanish at El Carmen that we returned for another 6 weeks.
The teachers are extremely friendly, supportive and patient. They try to make clases interactive and fun and encourage students to practice speaking and listening in class. Learning a language is difficult and they really make an effort to support students and make it as fun and stress free as possible. Thanks very much for a great experience!

I highly recommend El Carmen Spanish School. This school has very good teachers. They make learning spanish so much fun and encourage you to speak spanish. My spanish has improved thanks to Paula. I used to not like grammar lessons, but this school was a game changer.

I had an amazing two-week experience at this Spanish school! The teaching was top-notch, and I’m so grateful to have had Paula as my tutor. She was incredibly patient, engaging, and passionate about teaching, making the learning process enjoyable and effective. Paula’s personalized approach really helped me improve my Spanish, and I always looked forward to each class. The school itself was welcoming and well-organized, with a great atmosphere for learning. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking to improve their Spanish, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Paula as your teacher!

It was my first time taking language class and I was afraid to not learn enough or that the classes would not help me much. But I had the best experience in this school ! I started from scratch (zero) and still, the teachers only speak in Spanish during class, slowly, which is great ! I could see my Spanish level improving very fast and after 2 weeks, my teacher suggested me to take the test to increase level, and I passed it ! After 3 weeks, I can have simple discussions, have conversations with Spanish people and understand them fluently. Magda and Flor at the reception are very helpful, available and help you to find the best options for you. The school offers activities as well during the week. I did an "agua de Valencia" workshop, that was super fun. Thank to my teachers Lara and María for your amazing job as well :)
I highly recommend this school to learn efficiently and in a fun environment :)

I had a great experience at El Carmen Spanish School! The classes were small, allowing me to meet people from all over the world who were also studying Spanish in Valencia. The teachers were friendly and humorous, and they taught me not only the Spanish language but also shared insights into the Spanish and Valencian lifestyles. Additionally, the supporting staff was extremely helpful and friendly, enhancing the overall learning environment. Highly recommended!

I attended classes at El Carmen Spanish School for a week while I visited Valencia. I would recommend the school to anyone who desires to learn Spanish. My instructor, Mari Cruz Pinar, is one of the most capable teachers I have had in any subject. She is sensitive to each student's strengths and weaknesses, and her exuberance is contagious. She helped to make sense of many of the rules that had confused me in the past. I will return to Valencia later this year, and I look forward to more classes at El Carmen Spanish School, and especially with Ms. Cruz Pinar.

I think this is the best language school here in Valencia. I had classes with Nuria and Andrea, they are both so amazingly great, professional, patient and well-prepared. They don’t have a textbook and use their own material, for some old people they don’t like this, but in my opinion, this is the best way to learn and I improved so much faster than using a textbook. Be open minded and try this school, just enjoy.

This was my second time taking classes at El Carmen. Both times the teachers were fantastic. It's really hard to teach in an environment where students are coming and going all the time, but they manage to do it. I have a long way to go, but in just 3 weeks, my comprehension has improved. Great mix if students from all over the place and all different ages. Always a friendly and non-judgmental learning environment. I look forward to taking classes here again on my next trip to Valencia.

Spent nearly four weeks learning Spanish at El Carmen. I was a total beginner with just a few hours of learning on an app. Admin team was great. The teaching also very good. We were pushed and did lots of homework (it's optional), and that helped with our learning. Luckily for me they speak slowly with lots of repetition and revision of sections. We had three different teachers and learnt different things from each. Thanks to all at El Carmen school for a solid grounding in Spanish.

I did four weeks of begineers spanish clash including some 1 to 1 lessons during November 2023. Class numbers are typically 8-10 although I had one class with 12. I was delighted that I was set homework which was marked, with helpful and encouraging comments. When we had to leave a few days earlier than planned I was told that I could use the classes I'd already paid for at any time in the future. All the staff at El Carmen are professional, friendly, incredibly helpful and flexible. Gracias everyone.

Following our one-month beginner's course in 2022, my husband and I returned to the El Carmen school in October 2023 for another month's worth of lessons - and we were not disappointed! Once again, communication with Magdalena in admin. was quick, clear and courteous and upon our return we were treated like old friends 😁 This year we joined a A1.2 level group which was great 👍 It's always a little tricky to get into things for the first few days but we had an amazing teacher, Irene, who was very patient and made our lessons really interesting. We were lucky to have such lovely classmates too and felt that our group really gelled. We have both come away feeling that we have improved so once again, gracias El Carmen y hasta luego!

The best Spanish school in Valencia! The staff members are exceptionally friendly, the prices are affordable, and the most remarkable aspect is the incredible teacher I was fortunate enough to have (Patricia), who was absolutely outstanding! Her knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching are clearly apparent. I am deeply thankful for everything. :)

I was well received by the school staff. The quality of the teaching was exceptional with Patricia ... an 11 out of 10! She brought an abundance of enthusiasm and energy to every discussion and my level of Spanish improved as a result. One thing in which I was disappointed is that the school advertises in its website that it offers internal extracurricular activities, which are an important ingredient to me, but in reality there were no such activities offered.

El Carmen is a great place to learn Spanish in Valencia. The staff and teachers are all very welcoming and competent. The teaching methodology allows for maximum flexibility as the school has rolling enrollments, so your classmates may change fairly regularly. You can attend anywhere from 4 to 20 hours of class per week. It's also a great place to meet people from around the world as the students are very diverse. All of my teachers have been both very professional and friendly, and classes are fun with a good combination of grammar, cultural topics, and time to practice speaking. I highly recommend.

Excellent school based in El Carmen. I needed a crash course to learn Spanish as I am want to move to València. The classes are informal, with a wide variety of nationalities and ages. Miriam, our teacher, had the ability to deal with all levels of fluency, and did so with humour. The lessons cover a theme each day, and it is surprising how much you can build your vocabulary, so long as you review what you have been taught. The administration team were also very communicative and flexible. I return later this year, and will pick up again.

If you are looking for in person classes that are effective and enjoyable, I can recommend this school. If you buy a group of classes, it is also a good value. The staff is available and the scheduling is easy and flexible; ideal for people who need it due to travel. The teachers are friendly and dynamic. The focus is on grammar, but there is also plenty of opportunities for conversing. Classmates will change as with any school as flexible as this one, but they were all really great to work with.
