Elegant buildings, large private mansions, stately boulevards, bowery streets and beautiful sandy beaches: that is the stylish metropolis Montpellier. Montpellier is also the fastest growing city in France and one of the most multicultural cities. The historic old town has a medieval character. Go here to wander around between the historical, architectural delights and cozy bistros. Looking for a quiet place to study? The oldest botanical garden in France, the ‘Jardin des plantes’, is located in Montpellier and offers an oasis of peace during busy days of study. More than a third of the population in Montpellier is formed by students and they give a lively atmosphere to the day- and night life here. Because the city directly borders the Mediterranean Sea, you can alternate bustling city activities with relaxed beach days during your language course.

I came to this school to learn French during the Summer for 2 weeks - and it was the best decision. In a short space of time, I met so many new friends and felt really taken care of. The teachers create really dynamic classes and the admissions were so helpful with guiding me through a new city. Highly recommend for anyone looking to learn or improve their French! |

I am based in Zimbabwe, Africa and I attended the online group classes for A1 and A2. I did a total of 10 weeks. Both teachers were amazing and patient. They did their very best to ensure that the online students were always engaging with the classroom. The lessons had games that were fun and also helped immensely with the learning. I wrote my A2 DELF and came out with 93%. Definitely booking again for B1. Thank you ILA ! |

The course itself is well organised but I would surely not recommend the online course. Materials are not always adjusted to the hybrid form, resulting in you having to watch how students play games while you cannot participate or work on your French. One teacher was even handing out exercises on paper in class and I had no way of accessing those. The use of break out rooms and opportunities to ensure active participation online are not used as I would expect 1.5 years into the pandemic. The course costs the same online or in-class, but I guess value for money is a lot better for those students in class. |

I took the online intensive course at C1 level. I couldn't have been happier with my virtual visit to Montpelier. The teachers seemed to be very mindful of involving the online students as much as those on site and they succeeded in doing so. |

Don‘t ever book the intensive course. It is not linked to the standard (grammar) course at all. The teachers change all the time and there is no clear plan how to support the students in learning the language. The standard course, on the other hand, focuses a little too much on grammar and lacks time to practice (which should ideally happen in intensive). Some teachers try their best, but the entire system seems very outdated and should be improved. |
