Language school Lyon Bleu - KLF

My week at Lyon Bleu was excellent! My teacher was engaging and professional and it was fun to be in the classroom with students of a range of ages, from around the world. My homestay was with a lovely woman who welcomed me warmly to her apartment, located just minutes from the school. I hope I’ll get the chance to go back for a longer stay.

A highly renowned language school shows why it has earned this reputation. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, kind, generous, friendly, and well prepared. The premises are simple, efficient, and conducive to attaining the learning goals. Digital support to hands-on teacher-led lessons is a nice complement to hard copies of exercises and vocabulary. And, the blend of students coming from everywhere, each with their own motivation, makes for a happy, enjoyable experience.

One of the best language schools I have ever attended, with a great program and excellent teachers. Considering that the real progress depends on each student's effort, this school provides everyone with the best opportunities to advance as quickly as possible.

My experience at Lyon Bleu was phenomenal. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful and the environment was ideal for learning French. I was in the C1 standard course and found my professors to be very engaging and informative. My French improved exponentially from both the school and the host family that I lived with during my time there. I have very positive memories of Lyon thanks to this school and hope to return back one day.

The school has a very positive vibe, and one feels at ease right away. Every morning I went to the school I had a spring in my step!

My teacher was very likable, upbeat and knowledgeable.

The course, C1, was a bit too easy for me, though. (The school doesn't offer C2 level courses).

In the lesson we did too much video watching and audio listening (all of which you can do on your own). Furthermore, the teacher had us discuss topics in groups, while the teacher herself took some time off. I would have preferred to talk to the teacher more, as making conversation with the other students wasn't that challenging.

The school offers a lot. Events, additional classes, and online lessons. I personally didn't participate, as I didn't think that it would have helped improving my language skills.

But for anyone else, with a lower level, it's a very good thing, I think.

Overall, I highly recommend Lyon Bleu!

I'm Japanese and went to Lyon Bleu International for one week in July 2025. I have been to quite a lot of language schools in the past (for learning English, Italian, German, and French languages), and with my quite vast experiences, I can say that it is a very good school, with excellent teachers and staff. It is situated in such a lovely area (Foch), it's near and convenient to go to the city center. They organize interesting events as well, so students can learn and improve their French language in such a friendly atmosphere, and not only language, you can learn a lot also about French culture, Lyonnais history, gastronomy, and so on. I highly recommend Lyon Bleu International!

I highly recommend Lyon Bleu in Lyon. In just one week I was able to improve my French language skills and make lasting memories with new friends from around the world. I hope to return for a longer program!

I loved my time at Lyon Bleu! The professors I had were incredibly attentive, enthusiastic, charismatic, helpful and really improved my understanding of grammar! I think even if you're here a week or three, you'll get something out of it! I was fortunate enough to spend three weeks with Lyon Bleu and I'm so thankful for that time.

Everyone at Lyon Bleu was extremely helpful and kind. From answering all of my questions ahead of booking, to helping me complete the booking, and providing assistance before/after arrival. The class setup was perfect and my professor was amazing! I only attend for 1 week but I learned so much and was able to practice quite a bit. The school has recommendations for restaurants and things to do. They also host events during the week for students (some free, some at a cost). I also really enjoyed my experience staying with a host family. 10/10 recommend and will be back!

Excellent school. I had one week super intensive classes, they were very effective!
Class size was small with tons of opportunities for practice. Very engaging group projects, a few helpful homework’s with some optional ones if someone feels inclined to spend the early mornings “faire les devoires”
Teachers (Cathy and Ariane) asked about goals and focused their efforts to help us achieve them. The classmates were strong and we had a lot to learn from one another. I took the home stay option and stayed with Janine (she is the best by the way). Excellent cook, engaging conversationalist and was very patient with my struggling French. She took me to many historical sites in Lyon. Overall, good experience at school and homestay

I did 2 months of intensive French courses at Lyon Bleu and loved it. The school had such a great vibe and lots activities to do outside of class during the week if you were interested. The teachers were amazing and my French improved so much during the course. I stayed with a host family as well and would definitely recommend that.

So happy I finally did a french immersion class! I've been wanting to do this since I was 14 years old and Lyon Bleu was the best choice. The teachers and activities are so great and challenging. So impressed with the level of engagement and learning with fun activities after school too. Loved the wine and champagne tasting class too! Great school

Learnt so much in a very short time. The staff were so helpful and skilled at working with students from all levels of experience. I highly recommend!

What a great experience at Lyon Bleu immersing in French! Their staff was very responsive during our communication about registration and before I arrived in Lyon. Their professors were amazing making you feel welcomed and encouraged you to participate in class. The school offers fun cultural activities outside of class, which I definitely took advantage of (wine & cheese tasting and city tour)! I also loved meeting my fellow classmates from all over the world. Merci beaucoup Lyon Bleu pour les cours et mon super séjour !

I spent three weeks at Lyon Bleu and it was an amazing time. From the arrival to the end I felt very comfortable at school and during the classes with people from different countries and ages. The teaching methods were creative and fun and the team (especially my teacher Marie-Hélène) was wonderful! Merci à vous!

We just returned from four weeks in Lyon with three weeks of French language studies with Lyon Bleu. This was probably one of the most intensive and powerful language learning experiences I have had. The staff are great folks, helpful, caring, and true professionals. Our instructor was experienced and prepared, giving us individual attention in a small class setting. The extended time every day of hearing and speaking only French was game changing for me, and the instructors were good at speaking at a speed that was at the same time understandable and driving us forward. I also enjoyed meeting the other students in the class who were from all over the world. We also really enjoyed Lyon! It is one of the most interesting cities I have visited. I can say that this was a great experience for me and that I hope to spend more time learning with the Lyon Bleu team. Thank you team!!

I don’t even know where to start on how lucky I am to have found this school. Everything is well-thought: lessons, schedule, additional classes, tutoring, tours, location, etc.

Teachers are so understanding, passionate, and with deep knowledge of the language and cultures around the world. I felt super welcomed and motivated to carry on studying.

Students are diverse and there is a unique connection between all. Everyone I had met was keen on speaking French and getting to know each other better without any prejudice.

In addition, I highly appraise the cultural program every day. When you are new in the city it is worth a lot be occupied and surrounded by the others.

I am so happy I enrolled in a one week French course at Lyon-Bleu International. It was professional every step of the way and I felt very supported throughout the process. Registering for classes was straightforward and the administration was very helpful and responsive. My class was wonderful and I enjoyed having a theme (ie education or food or pop culture) around which discussion and learning topics were centered — it was a great way to learn material that could be applied to everyday conversation! As an American, I also loved being in a classroom with students from all countries and hearing various perspectives about how the education system and trends differ across countries. Felipe, our instructor, was very enthusiastic, prepared, and thoughtful — he makes learning so engaging and fun! The highlights of the week were making new friends and the cultural activities offered by the school (such as tours of Lyon, a cheese tasting, a home cooked dinner hosted by Janine). I highly recommend LBI — my advice is to take advantage of all the opportunities! You will not regret taking a class here :)

I highly recommend this language school. The professors are kind and teach with good energy (merci Anne et Felipe). Also, the school communicated with me and took the time to find the perfect schedule and classes for me. Sandra is especially friendly and helpful. (Merci Sandra!) This is a great place to spend time and improve your French language skills.

I spent three weeks in Lyon Bleu, what can I say, it was worth every penny! They are very flexible with the starting dates, which is not a given in France, and I've learned a lot in a short span of time thanks to Marie-Hélène. Some students call her "strict", and maybe you can say that she is "old school", in fact we spent a great deal of time learning about grammar in class, but for me it's really the only effective way to learn a language, so I say bravo madame!

Another great thing about the school are the students you can meet there, saying that it was a multicultural experience doesn't render it justice...young students for every corner of the world, workers, middle-aged people, everyone with a story to tell!

I give 5 stars. I have been to Lyon Bleu three times. The first time I chose it because I would like to find a language school which offers also home stay. Lyon Bleu was perfect match for my demand. I started with A2 level. It is no problem to come here with zero French too.

I like the service, quality and flexibility Lyon Bleu offers. The staff from administration has always been a great help. I was lucky to have Hélène as teacher last time. I have learned within 2 weeks more than I can learn by myself for 6 months.

Besides, the location of school is in a nice area of Lyon. There are many nice bakeries and the famous park (le parc de tête d'or ) is just few minutes walk distance from school. I used to go walk there after french class. I totally recommend Lyon Bleu

C'était magnifique ! I had one of the best experiences at Lyon Bleu. I studied at Lyon Bleu for two weeks, but will certainly be returning soon, hopefully. Registration and information about my time here was clear and specific, and the staff warmly welcomed me on my first day. It's an incredible experience to meet people from all over the world, all studying French. Lyon Bleu offers plenty of after-class events, such as wine tastings, cooking classes, walking tours of Lyon. If you study here, make sure to take advantage of these events; I was able to make friends quickly because of this. Tea, the Coordinator, was wonderful and was able to answer all of my questions before and during my time at Lyon Bleu. My teacher Eva was so much fun. I highly recommend Lyon Bleu for those looking to improve their French language skills. Lyon is an amazing city and I am looking forward to returning soon. Thank you to everyone at Lyon Bleu for the wonderful time. I'm looking forward to coming back!

I did a one week intensive course, and it was really good. I can recommend everything about it. I was on holiday for the week, and I asked to do the 3 day intensive course, and I enjoyed it so much I signed on to do an extra day. The staff and teachers were all most helpful in both languages and I thought it was good value for money. Enjoy! Profitez!

I arrived in Lyon with zero French knowledge (A1.1), and thanks to Lyon Bleu, I left three months later with a B2 level!

Before starting my course, I received so much help from the director to sort out my visa, classes, and housing. My first month of class, taught by Eva, was truly spectacular. I then had classes with several other teachers, all equally enthusiastic and helpful.

Lyon itself is beautiful and located perfectly for those who wish to travel (with Paris, Marseille, and Geneva just a quick train ride away!).

Lyon Bleu offers stellar individualized service (of a caliber that I have never encountered at other language schools). It’s a true gem.

I had a wonderful time in my 4 weeks at Lyon Bleu. All my teachers were kind and approachable and the lessons were very well structured. Lyon is a beautiful city with much to explore and enjoy. There is also a sense of friendship among the students facilitated by the great number of activities we can participate in. A special thank you to Julien (my professor) and Janine (our wonderful tour guide and cooking teacher!) and Vanessa (for assigning me a wonderful host family and organising my classes). Everyone also felt immediately welcomed by the kind staff who truly wanted us to have a great time - right from the beginning. My host family (matched by Lyon Bleu) was also incredible, and I cried upon saying goodbye! Don’t hesitate to book with Lyon Bleu. :)
