About the school

Language school LILA was founded in Liverpool in 2004 as an independent English academy by the two sisters Leanne Linacre and Victoria Lee. Leanne and Victoria found that there was a need for more quality schools in the north of England and Liverpool was the perfect choice. LILA is an innovative language school in the city center of Liverpool. It is a medium-sized school with a familiar atmosphere and the quality of education is key. The lessons are accredited by, among others, the British Council. The school is located in a modern building in a bustling street. You only have to step out the door to find cafes and restaurants. The interior of the school is practical and modern and the classrooms are bright thanks to the many windows. Also nice to know: the school organizes weekly social activities where students can practice the English language in an informal way.

Liverpool

There’s always something to do in Liverpool. The city, located in the west of Great Britain, has so much to offer: countless events and attractions, the world-class Liverpool Football Club, and the musical heritage that gave us the Beatles. With the second largest collection of museums and galleries in the whole of England (after London), culture is ever-present here. The city’s atmosphere is complex; while it has been plagued by social issues for decades, it’s also been an industrial and commercial epicenter, and the love Liverpoolians feel for their city is nearly palpable. Liverpool is an amazing place to learn English if you want to get a chance to explore this vibrant and exciting city.

I did my CELTA with LILA* and I can honestly say that it was the greatest learning experience I could have imagined with teaching beyond any standard that I had encountered before. Everything was beyond expectation: the staff were so patient and welcoming; the lessons were taught to an exceptional standard; hygiene and safety were a constant priority; all within a lovely building, situated in an excellent location for shopping and transport links. I would recommend LILA* to anyone looking for wonderful teacher training or English lessons. I cannot speak highly enough of my experience.

Lila provided me with a fantastic experience unlike any other. I never felt more at home in a learning environment. The teachers were friendly, supportive, communicative, and were happy to guide me every step of the way. I fully recommend enrolling in any course provided at Lila.

As a LILA* host family for several years, we've welcomed many students into our home while they study at LILA*.
All of the students that that stayed with us loved their time at the school. Some of the Key things they liked was the teachers, friendly staff and the location. We've enjoyed having students and being a host for LILA*.

I had very good time with LİLA. This is my first language school experience ı have lived in my life until now. My first day, the directors welcomed me and they were quite hospitality, the teachers are so friendly, easygoing and helpful and I had very productive time with my teacher Laura. By the way, Liverpool is very open-minded and very friendly city ı have ever seen in the UK until now. That city has so many museums, entertainment venue, pubs, bars and others. Liverpool is quite apropriate for the students and not too much expensive city compared to other cities. I think that city is the best for students. Thank you Lila family.
