About the school

Linguaschools Salamanca is accredited by Instituto Cervantes. The teachers draw on many years of experience to provide an interesting and supportive learning environment. You should learn quickly here, both inside the classroom and when living in the old city. Just like Salamanca itself, the school has a relaxed atmosphere that is welcoming to all and highly conducive to learning.

The school is situated within Salamanca’s old town, just a few minutes from the Plaza Mayor. Within a 10-minute walk you’ll find most of the city’s attractions, along with many cafes, terraces and restaurants. Free Wi-Fi and computers are available in the school and there’s a library with Spanish movies and books to borrow. Having 8 classrooms means we can be flexible with classifying groups and make sure you learn at a level that is most suitable for you.

Salamanca

Salamanca is also known as the golden city. The whole of the historic centre is like a massive monument, built with golden yellow sandstone. The rich history of the city and its preservation makes the Middle Ages almost tangible here. Salamanca is home to one of the oldest universities in Europe; in the historic centre, you will find Romanesque, Gothic and Moorish monuments, all testaments to the city’s rich history. Salamanca is also one of the most famous student cities in Spain, which gives the city a fun, young and vibrant atmosphere – it’s brimming with tapas bars, clubs and fun sights.

Salamanca is a nice little town with beautiful locations like the big Cathedral, University of Salamanca and Plaza Mayor. In four weeks I learned the basics of Spanish and was able to talk with the local people and I am still in contact with some of them to continue practice my Spanish. During my stay in August it was more quiet since many students are studying there from September until June. The people from class are still good friends of my and we see each other regularly in The Netherlands.

I went to Salamanca in 2012 and studied for four weeks in the Linguaschool. There were classes for all abilities and the lessons were enjoyable and engaging. The school also organised a range of extracurricular activities, which were great for meeting other students and learning about Spanish culture.

Additionally, the school arranged my accommodation with a host family, which was the perfect compliment to my studies, linguistically and culturally. It also proved to be great value.

Salamanca is a beautiful city having plenty to do whilst being affordable and walkable. It's the second Linguaschool I've been to and I can recommend both to people wishing to improve their Spanish and have an alternative holiday, particularly for those wishing to travel abroad on their own and meet new people.

Unfortunately, there were only two classes in the weeks that I came. One class was a beginner group, the other a very advanced group (level B2). I was exactly in between (level A2) and so I was put in the group that was too difficult for me. Only in the second week and after I had indicated 5 times that the lessons were not available to me, the school finally came up with a solution. Very sorry ! The teachers were also very knowledgeable and very nice.

I did the course as part of my studies and can only report positive things. The teachers are all nice, open, helpful and happy. The course size was perfect (4 people), but that was also because I was in Salamanca in March. The city is very beautiful, offers are made, you get in contact with other students, so you never get bored.

Overall, I can recommend linguaschools.

Hello,

I was in Salamanca for 2 weeks at the beginning of 2015 and I felt super good at school. The school and the courses are small but that produces a very familiar atmosphere! They already knew my name and all the information about me when I arrived at school the first day. All the people were very kind and caring. I also learned a lot. And I already miss Salamanca because it is an amazing city and very beautiful!
