Salamanca is also known as the golden city. The whole of the historic centre is like a massive monument, built with golden yellow sandstone. The rich history of the city and its preservation makes the Middle Ages almost tangible here. Salamanca is home to one of the oldest universities in Europe; in the historic centre, you will find Romanesque, Gothic and Moorish monuments, all testaments to the city’s rich history. Salamanca is also one of the most famous student cities in Spain, which gives the city a fun, young and vibrant atmosphere – it’s brimming with tapas bars, clubs and fun sights.

Salamanca is a nice little town with beautiful locations like the big Cathedral, University of Salamanca and Plaza Mayor. In four weeks I learned the basics of Spanish and was able to talk with the local people and I am still in contact with some of them to continue practice my Spanish. During my stay in August it was more quiet since many students are studying there from September until June. The people from class are still good friends of my and we see each other regularly in The Netherlands. |

I went to Salamanca in 2012 and studied for four weeks in the Linguaschool. There were classes for all abilities and the lessons were enjoyable and engaging. The school also organised a range of extracurricular activities, which were great for meeting other students and learning about Spanish culture. |

I did the course as part of my studies and can only report positive things. The teachers are all nice, open, helpful and happy. The course size was perfect (4 people), but that was also because I was in Salamanca in March. The city is very beautiful, offers are made, you get in contact with other students, so you never get bored. |

Unfortunately, there were only two classes in the weeks that I came. One class was a beginner group, the other a very advanced group (level B2). I was exactly in between (level A2) and so I was put in the group that was too difficult for me. Only in the second week and after I had indicated 5 times that the lessons were not available to me, the school finally came up with a solution. Very sorry ! The teachers were also very knowledgeable and very nice. |
