About the school

In the middle of the center of Rome, in the elegant art-nouveau district of San Lorenzo you will find the language school Torre di Babele. From here it is easy to get the real Italy feeling, because the neighborhood is located in the less tourist-oriented part of the city near the University of Rome (La Sapienza), the historic park of Villa Torlonia and the train stations Termini and Tiburtina. This area of Rome has many streets with beautiful trees and famous city parks (Villa Massimo, Villa Ada, Villa Borghese). With just a few minutes walking from the school you will find yourself in the popular student district known throughout Rome for pubs, cafes, restaurants, pizzerias and the vibrant nightlife. The school building has 10 spacious and sunny classrooms and there is a large garden with lots of plants and terraces where sometimes courses are given and where students can relax during their breaks and free time. Adjacent to this garden there is the student lounge, where snacks, coffee, tea and soft drinks are available. At Torre di Babele personal attention and direct help to the students are key. The lessons are accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education.

Rome

Who thinks of Rome thinks of elegant squares, gaudy baroque fountains and of course the Coliseum, the pantheon and the showpiece of the Vatican: the St. Peter's Basilica. Quite an impressive list, right? It might be clear that almost no city can match the artistic and historical heritage that Rome has to offer. During a walk through the city you must try hard not to stumble over the masterpieces of the giants of Western art. There are sculptures by Michelangelo, fountains by Bernini, canvases by Caravaggio and frescoes by Raphael. This, combined with the dolce vita lifestyle that people embrace here, makes Rome one of the most romantic cities in the world.

What do you do on your day off when you follow a language course in Rome? You have breakfast with, of course, a cappuccino and sweet delicacy at an espresso bar. After that you wander through the picturesque streets on your way to a visit one of the many museums. Have you had your portion of culture? Then you go to the Campto de Fiori - the most famous market in Rome - to get yourself some fresh and local groceries. Afterwards you sit down at a terrace on one of the beautiful squares and you might go for a gelato with a shot of espresso. When the evening falls you go back to your apartment to cook a pasta al ragu for you and your fellow students with the groceries from the market. After dinner you end the day with a homemade tiramisu in a trattoria or you find yourself between all the dressed up Italians in a fancy cocktail bar.

I myself went to school here for three months and had a very good experience. Nice teachers, no nonsense, extra-curricular opportunities if you want them. Recommended.

If you want to learn Italian in Rome, this is the school where you can learn it!! I had two previous and very bad experiences, for my first two years on a student visa here, but then I found this school, and it is truly an amazing experience. THANK YOU Torre di Babele! I will learn and am finally learning Italian. The teachers (I have had five different teachers so far at different levels in different courses, and they, every single one of them, are outstanding. I too am a teacher, a teacher of English, and I know teaching methods. Not only do they use the most effective teaching methods, every single teacher is enthusiastic about their job, they speak clearly, no other language is spoken in the classroom, the school is utterly amazing. I highly recommend it. I regret my two previous, and very costly, mistakes in locating a school to learn Italian, but I am most grateful I found Torre di Babele.
