The Italian fashion industry was born here and the city stood at the cradle of the Renaissance. If something should describe Florence, it would be the words 'Style' and 'Class'. Make a detour through the compact city after your language lessons and be enchanted by the sculptures and masterpieces of architects as Michelangelo and Botticelli. The narrow cobbled streets often lead to elegant palaces with marble basilicas from the 15th and 16th centuries. A cinematic party. But, a walk through the maze of medieval streets offers much more. Stroll along the larger or family-runned fashion boutiques that sell elegant and timeless items. Not surprising, because designer Guccio Gucci, among others, opened his haute couture boutiques in the city in the twenties and that still leaves traces behind. And, how could it be different: also in the kitchens of this Tuscan capital quality rises far above quantity. Restaurants and bistros serve dishes made from local, seasonal products accompanied by the purest wines from wineries located in the hills surrounding the city. Despite the fact that Florence is relatively compact in size with its 380,000 inhabitants, she is put on the must-go-to list for many travel gurus. If only because the Tuscan lifestyle here is so enviable sweet.

I spent 5 weeks at The Koinè Center a few years back and it continues to be one of the best experience of my life. The staff at the school were always warm and welcoming and they made language learning enjoyable and fun. I went on many of the outings that the school organized as well. From the walks and talks around the town to an afternoon of wine tasting in Chianti, everything was lovely and I felt well taken care of. The location of Koinè Center is absolutely everything you could ask for too! |

Had a two week intensive language course in November 2019. This was truly great experience. School has amazing location (2 min from Piazza Santa Croce) and the group was quite small (low season) so everyone had enough attention during the lessons. Our teacher Marco was the best! Such a knowledgable and patient person who truly loves his job. Cultural activities after school will allow you to discover Florence places not visible on the standard touristic routs. |

I loved my experience at Koinè! I came in with little knowledge of Italian and was able to make a lot of progress in 3 short weeks. The teachers are all fantastic and wonderful. They make the learning interesting and are sincerely interested in you learning while you're there. I can't recommend them enough! |

I had two weeks at the school and very much enjoyed the experience. The school is very well run and the teachers (Francesca in particular) were excellent. I learned so much in a very short time. The school is in a beautiful part of Florence and everybody at the school was really welcoming and friendly. It was an amazing two weeks. I wish I had been able to stay longer. |

This is the perfect school to learn Italian in Florence. It is located in the downtown area, so it is close to many points of interest. The instructors are very knowledgeable and make the classes dynamic and fun. They also have cultural activities twice a week, where they take you to a site in Florence and teach you about the history and culture. |
