Elegant buildings, large private mansions, stately boulevards, bowery streets and beautiful sandy beaches: that is the stylish metropolis Montpellier. Montpellier is also the fastest growing city in France and one of the most multicultural cities. The historic old town has a medieval character. Go here to wander around between the historical, architectural delights and cozy bistros. Looking for a quiet place to study? The oldest botanical garden in France, the ‘Jardin des plantes’, is located in Montpellier and offers an oasis of peace during busy days of study. More than a third of the population in Montpellier is formed by students and they give a lively atmosphere to the day- and night life here. Because the city directly borders the Mediterranean Sea, you can alternate bustling city activities with relaxed beach days during your language course.

The first thing I look for when I search for a language school is the class size. The Klesse School had what I was looking for. Christophe, the school director, was very attentive and always made himself available when needed. Anne Marie, my teacher, was terrific. I had a positive learning experience with her. The school is centrally located. My accommodation was within a walking distance. The hosts were superb. All in all I really enjoyed my four-week learning vacation. |

We spent 3 weeks at Ecole Klesse doing a combination course: Cours de Francais avec conversation. I left Ecole Klesse highly satisfied: the teachers were qualified, very experienced, cooperative and friendly. I liked the small classes, the rooms and the warm and familiar atmosphere. I think that the school is well-organized and conducted. We received important informations beforehand. Besides, the school is situated in the centre of Montpellier: so you have plenty of shops nearby if you need a snack for lunchtime or if you want to go to a restaurant. Montpellier itself is a very charming city. All in all: an excellent experience that should be repeated. |

*Update: After a year of waiting as well as paying for a lawyer, it took my posting a negative review for the owner to pay back Four (4) of the 5 weeks of housing. He still has not paid for the 2 weeks of classes owed to me or apologized for the atrocious behavior of ignoring me and my lawyer, but I said I would amend the review if he paid me something. Skip this school and go to another. I am not one to write negative reviews about any small business owner, but the behavior of the owner is unethical. He literally stole €1400 from me. The owner is dishonest, dismissive and has little concern for his students or his teachers. Please do not support this institution. I paid in full for a 5 week intensive, which included housing. It was guaranteed that I would be sharing with only one other person. When I arrived at the address provided there were 2 other girls living there. I absolutely could have compromised, but it was not a good situation. I was given a very small room next to the living room and kitchen. The other two bedrooms were full size, in the back of the house and had lots of privacy. The room I was given had a broken door that didn’t close and the noise from the common areas was not conducive to study. I don’t even want to mention the filth, the mold in the bathroom, the overflowing trash cans, the rotting food in the refrigerator. I let the owner of the school know the next day. He did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. Because it was last minute, my only option was an airbnb. Now, I had to spend so much (nearly all) of my summer budget on housing that I couldn’t afford to stay the full 5 weeks of the program. I was given a second guarantee that the extra weeks would be refunded to me. This school has not refunded my money for OVER A YEAR for an apartment I didn’t stay at, one that was not even close to what was guaranteed to me, nor for the 2 extra weeks of intensive classes that I pre-paid for but never attended. Again, Please do not support an institution that doesn't put its students first. |

I spent a week at this school aiming to improve on a number of weak points in my French identified in advance. I took a combined course, 20 hours of group classes + 6 hours of individual classes, and was very happy with what I got. Highly skilled teachers, a really customised approach, lots of useful material received that will keep me busy with “homework” for weeks ahead – that was exactly what I wanted. As far as can judge, the other students that took longer courses looked also quite satisfied with the teaching. |
